    Oooh, have fun, Mary!

I've been riding with my spider wired onto my helmet for about 2 weeks now, and I'd hoped to be able to take her for one more ride today, but it doesn't look as if I'll have the time. So I can't wait to see your photos--I'll have to do my Halloween ride vicariously through you.

At this point, I'm keeping my fingers crossed my DIL can get home in time to take ME home so I can get my bike. I have all of my costume with me and the bike is dressed and waiting for me, but if she doesn't get home in time, I won't make it to the party/ride in time.. There really are times it's a pain in the NOT to drive or have a car because if I wait for the bus depending when she gets home I could be HOURS late...
I've got the bike all dressed up even beyond what I had on it for the Hilly Hundred. I have a witch on the front named Brunhilde, Edgar the raven is perched on the rack in back. I added bright yellow moon sillhouettes with a witch on one side and cat on the other to the rack last night so I should be able to be seen. I'm going to wearing a bit different costume than I did for the Hilly and hope to have some makeup as well. That is at least if all doesn't fall through. She may not want to take me home since she still has to get the grands ready to trick or treat.. I brought their treats with me today in case I wasn't home (never know when they're going to stop or not )

Yippee! I love Halloween... it's a chance to be silly and dress funny, and NOT get strange looks for it!

I'm wearing cat ears and a bright orange jack-o-lantern shirt. I had to take them off earlier - I had an appointment with a couple who are refugees from Sudan, and they are confused enough as it is! We had an interesting conversation - they don't understand a lot of our customs and holidays... and I had a hard time explaining this one.

Um, well, we dress up like other people and other things... some people try to be scary and look like ghosts... and then we have our kids go door-to-door and beg for candy... Huh. I'm not sure I understand it myself! I was tempted to go into some of the historical aspects, in order to explain where the traditions come from, but with the limited comprehension of English it just would have made it worse.

    Unhappy Ride CANCELLED

Well, I just found out that the costume ride has been cancelled.. Scheduling problems and potential weather problems. I guess when I get home I'll go ahead and get dressed to pass out treats like I usually do, but perhaps, I'll take a ride around the neighborhood for a short time since the bike is already dressed for the occasion.. .

here is me and my dh at our costume gig over the weekend. We had so much fun! But my husband was a little to real! Tonight we do a haunted house at our house. We do this every year with our friends. We have all stuff, smoke lights sound. And we have a theme every year too. We go through so much candy! We will be kinda mellow this year cause it is on a Tuesday but it is always packed!

Happy Halloween all! Love the pics and Mary can't wait to see yours too... I'm going to my best friends place... we'll pass out candy to the little monsters and down a bottle (or two) of wine...

I feel your pain! My scheduled Halloween Party got canceled, too. The host's wife went into labor three weeks early... what was she thinking?!

I always normally dress up as the neighbourhood witch and pass out treats. I'm often sitting out front with a candlelabra (sp?) since we don't have a front porch light. I have made most of my costumes same as my cycling clothes. I was kinda looking forward to riding downtown in Indy in costume tonight though. I may just have to take a quick ride around the neighbourhood to terrorize the tots before sitting out with the cheetos and teddy grahams.
