This guy I've been riding with for the past couple of months got some new pedals. He knew I had been thinking about getting some Looks so he GAVE me his old pedals. May good things come his way. A small act of kindness really made my day. Hopefully I'll be able to pass it on. And I swapped out the pedals myself - no running to the LBS! Note to self: you need to start a decent tool kit.

I rode yesterday with them. My right foot felt like it was slipping sometimes...don't know what would cause that sensation. My left knee hurt afterwards (front). I've raised my seat up a bit to compensate for the thickness of the cleats...maybe that will fix the knee issue. I was pleased with how easy it was to get unclipped. But getting my second foot clipped in when starting back up after stopping is going to take some getting used to. My other pedals were two-sided.

What do you mean by slipping? Maybe the pedals have too much float for how your right leg tracks? Was your cleat loose or damaged?

I hear ya about getting the second foot clipped in.

A strange thing has been happening with my Looks lately. I'm getting braver in attempting higher traffic areas, and when I unclip my left but just rest it on the pedal approaching potential stops, if I don't need to put my foot down, when I try to snap it back in (I'm resting it on the correct side, you'd think I just step into it like normal, right?) I can't. Sometimes I have to take the foot off totally and start from scratch. Other times, I can't get it in in about the 3 o'clock position like normal, but I put it down to 6 and really stand on it and wiggle my foot around for it to go. I don't really like having to jump around on one pedal for balance purposes. Any clues why it happens? It has happened when starting from a stop, but usually when the cleat has gotten dirty (like if I need to pull over to the shoulder on the narrow multiuse trail to stop to be out of the way), and even then, it's pretty rare.

Yes, it seems like there might be more float than I'm used to. At first I thought the cleat was loose.
I try the foot just unclipped but still on the pedal thing too. Works sometimes but others I can't get back in. Must just be an alignment thing. I'm getting a little better at getting the second foot in. I think it takes trying to do it without looking at the pedal. I'm trying to learn to do it by feel. I don't like having to fumble around when the light turns green. I try to get out of the intersection as fast as I can so I don't slow down traffic too much. I like the wider platform and I think they are easier to unclip from.
