Today is the first sub-freezing day in Chicagoland - snow flurries, 35 mph gusts and my daughter triple-dog dared me to commute today. Scott Farkas knows, I couldn't pass up that dare.
I forgot:
-all these blasted layers take a while to get on - late to work - Dang!
-glasses fogging up - forgot the cat crap - Dang!
-late to work - no time to remove all these blasted layers - heating up! Dang!
-holy crap, it's snowing - no studs on these tires - Dang!
-finally arrived at work - Ahhh, what a great ride!
Now I just have to get home tonight!
Hey Nuthatch, we hadn't seen you in a while, had we? Good to read from you.
Sorry about the snow! glad you enjoyed your commute tho'!!
I miss the first-snowstorm feeling since I've moved Pacific Side... but not so much.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
good luck getting home!

So glad to be south of that silliness! It's crisp and blue today... but yes, the layers take longer. I'm looking forward to the west wind home!
You forgot
1. Cold feet and numb baby toes;
2. Snot rockets;
3. Watering eyes.
I was reminded this morning when I rode very early--it was 40 degrees, clear & starry, and the dew point was very low.
