    SO frustrated...

Some of you may recall my ongoing saga with a sebacious cyst in the groin... right where the saddle rubs... I had the surgery to remove 2 of them in late July... and the doc missed one. So it was removed Aug 24. I was told to stay off the bike for a few weeks. I went on vaca in early Sept and JUST finally rode for the first time in 2 1/2 months on Sat.

I could tell that my fitness level was down some... but it was not as bad as I expected (we didn't climb tho )... anyway, THAT was the good news. The bad news? The incision opened in one small spot It didn't bleed but did drain some... I have a call into the doc this AM... all I can figure is that it abcessed slightly... and wasn't healed.

What do you wanna bet they're gonna say to stay off the bike. And I know I need to, until this heals. But WAAAH! I wanna ride...

Hmmm. Were you awake when the cysts were removed?? Just curious.

Sorry to hear you're going to be back off the bike...

OUCH! And that's for the not riding AND the unhealed wound.

    Good luck.

Wow that sucks. Both the abcess and the not being able to ride.

But especially the not being able to ride. Maybe you could rollerblade until it heals?? That way you are still working your legs and getting exercise.

Do you know why you are getting the saddle sores in the first place. I was having real saddle sore problems till I recently switched from a terry butterfly to brooks finesse. Saddle sores in the groin can indicate the nose is too wide, and/or the shfit between the wide and narrow part too gradual. Sorry for your troubles, but heres hoping for the best! -e

nanci... yep, I was awake... they numb it and then do their thing... which I assumed they KNEW how to do... LOL. Never even thought about sitting up and double checking...

mimtabby... LOL... NOT long! I am the worst standing rider ever... I've worked on it... but still... it ain't pretty...

    pooks thanks...

cyclechyk... yeah, I've been walking and did some hiking too... my legs felt better than I thought they might... but the whole open hole in my leg thing... well, yuk.

Cali... thanks and yeah it sux. The bro is doing OK... buried between the new job and new house... still riding... but no Triple Crown this year...

maillotpois... thanks... yeah, there are MANY people going thru bigger stuff... but dangit, I wanna ride. Wah.

triskie... the doc thinks they started as ingrown hairs... they rub being where they are and turn in... then they form a hard wall around them and become a sebacious cyst. I DO have a new Brooks saddle to put on the bike... someday... when I can ride again

Brandy... yep, thanks... one of these days I'll be able to join all you guys for a ride!!!

thanks for the empathy... some people just don't get it why this is so frustrating to me... I KNEW you'd all understand... and I appreciate you letting me whine. I don't do it often... but every now and again... it helps.
