So - I've fallen once again - and am waiting for my husband to get home to take me to the ER - I couldn't get clipped out in time and went down - something caught the back of my leg ( below the calf) and laid it open pretty good - so now I have my first real battle scar

Think I'll go for a ride when I get home to celebrate!!

    OUCH!!!

And after that celebration ride, drink a nice strong "something" to take off the edge!

    Congratulations?

Remember: scars are tattoos with better stories. (I saw that on a t-shirt)

We should start a "Show us your biking scars" thread. Bike-related surgery scars would count.

    You go first

Well - 8 stitches later - came home - and went right back into battle - took the bike out for a test run with her new Continental Gatorskins... WOW!!! What a difference - I went from 700x35 to 700x25 - I think I'm going to like these

Yikes. I know lots of you on the forum love using clipless, and they seem like they'd be pretty necessary for racing or competing, but....every day that goes by on this forum, I get more and more glad that I use PowerGrip straps instead of clipless! I can always count on my foot coming out when I turn my ankle and withdraw it. For myself, I can't imagine using clipless in high traffic with frequent unexpected stop & start situations.
Very sorry to hear about your gash! Hope you heal soon. And I hope you don't fall anymore!

Yeah - you and me both CyclChyk!!

The bike is fine - it suffered more damage from the wash I gave it over the week-end than this!!
