    Horrible Mistake

Yesterday, I went into the LBS for a quick release lever for my daughter's bike seat. Very innocent. Innocent until I turned around and fell in love with an Electra Townie 21 -it was just so cool looking, so retro. When they asked if I wanted to ride it, I told my daughter to hold my purse. Big mistake. I wanted that bike the second I sat on the seat with my feet flat on the ground! That smooth ride led to other smooth rides on other nice bikes. I rode a couple of Raleigh bikes that made me want to ditch my lovely Schwinn - my Schwinn that I was totally happy with just a few hours earlier. And, like the bike shop guy told me, those weren't even top of the line! I had myself convinced that there wouldn't be much difference between my bike and the ones in the bike shop. Now I have bike fever. It's horrible!

Fortunately, my husband also rode new bikes and has the fever too!

Riding has become our favorite thing to do as a family. AND the kids were just having a fit for me to buy the Townie . . . . Wonder how it would handle on hills?

My LBS sells those Electra bikes, too. They sure are sweet, and he wisely keeps them right by the front door. So far, I've resisted--I've already got a Bianchi Veloce on layaway.
