My frame came in! My frame came in! My frame came in!!!

I ordered my new frame four weeks ago. They said it would be a week or two. I've been going CRAZY!!! I just called my LBS to ask a question about handlebar tape. After talking for a while I mentioned the bike it's going on, wondering if he knew what I was talking about. I said, "You know the frame I'm waiting for, right?" He says, "The Cannondale? Yah, it came in today." All matter of factly.

WHAT?!!!!! It came IN?! It's HERE?!!! Are you KIDDING ME?!!!

Of course, I don't get to simply go and get it. They have to put it together with the parts from husband's old bike and they are pretty swamped. So it will probably either be tomorrow or I'll have to wait ALL weekend until Monday!

But my frame is in! My frame is in! Woo hoo!

It's a black Cannondale CAAD 9 with Dura Ace components, pink handlebar, pink saddle bag, pink bottle holders, pink bottles and possibly a pink seat. Hee hee!!! I bought a couple of great pink and black jerseys to go with, of course. SWEET!

We just talked to the LBS and they said it would either be late today or sometime tomorrow before it's ready. Tomorrow bites because I have obligations all day long and can't go myself. DH would have to go and get it for me and how anti-climactic is THAT?! Him seeing my bike first and me not being able to physically go into the bike shop to get my bike? I'm so stupid sentimental! My other option is waiting for Monday and ... well, we all know how not happy that would make me! Yet, I don't know if I even have time to ride it until then.

Anywho, I'll be happy to provide many "pictures, pictures, pictures!" for proof and verification when I not only HAVE the bike, but when I get it all pinked out. I'm waiting for my pink saddle bag, bottle cages and bottles to arrive. Not to mention my pink jerseys.

Yes, we need proof. Actually, I think we are just a bunch of picture nuts. Welcome to the Cannondale fold, I no longer feel solo amongst the Bianchi, Rivendell, Trek and Specialized riders here.

Yah, Aggie, what's that all about?! Where's all the Cannondale riders? Is it just not a common women's bike choice? I almost got a Specialized Ruby, but then my hubs found out what an awesome deal he could get on a CAAD 9 frame, which is what he used to ride. He couldn't pass it up. Plus, I'm very tall ... 5'9", so it's not like I feel the need for a "women specific bike". Though Cannondale does make women specific bikes.

Anyways, it's nice to meet another Cannondale-er!

Yah right. There will be no calming down. My DH just told me the LBS didn't think it would be ready until tomorrow. So, I called them, sucked up a little and "gently encouraged" them to DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET IT DONE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, not really. I'm mean sort of. I was nice. Super nice.

Well little short me (5'2") had to have WSD. I don't know about where you ride, but most of the shops here (Austin, TX) are Trek or Specialized shops. Those are great brands, but my DH had a Cannondale for 2 years and I wanted one! Maybe it is because they have a reputation of being more of a race-oriented frame maker?

What does WSD mean? Women Specific D...????

So, yah, I was on the Cannondale site and found the CAAD 9 under the "elite racer" bikes! Yikes! Am I spoiled rotten or what?! The other day I started asking hubs more questions about this bike he chose for me. Just curious about why he chose it. He sort of laughed and said it was because it's a REALLY great frame and because we're getting an awesome deal on that frame in particular (because the LBS guys is pretending hubs is on the Cannondale team, so he gets the Cannondale Team price). He then informed me that there are guys in the Tour de France that ride that bike.

So, I'm sittin' pretty sweet. Well, I will be once I HAVE MY BIKE TO SIT ON!!! The LBS is open for two more hours. Fingers are crossed that they'll call and say it's ready!

What kind of Cannondale do you have?

Cool Fredwina! Sweet looking bike! Red is one my favorite colors. Our tandem is red.

You've got some serious luggage on that thing.

Thanks for shariing the pic. Happy to find another Cannondale-er.
