Isn't my friend Cathy funny? She lives in Georgia. She has some sort of bike- but I've never gone cycling with her. I originally know her from cave diving- there weren't a lot of women back then, and especially not on an exploration team. She's close to the mountains- knows all the great places to hike- never gets tired...

    Good morning thread drifters!

Oh, man, the viedos are hilarious! Those fish. What a trip! How long did it take to teach them to line up for their chow?

I'm up at 5:20 AM, eating my bagel with pb, so I can go back to bed and get up at 6:30 to go run. That's the way I like to do it, but I'm seldom in bed on time to stand getting up to eat early.

I don't even know who those people were that had the party across the way last night. I've never seen them in the neighborhood. It was a party in the garage, with the car as their sound system. I just shut all the windows, put on the AC, went to sleep.

I see we're almost on page 100. Party? How about the 2,000th post?

I learned how to use smilies!

How come on HSAI it keeps saying last page, but it isn't?

    Go Eden!!

I DEFINITELY was not in on it... "You know what annoyes me even more and I think at least one of you has been in on it. Those threads that end up "I'm so thin and scrawny that size 0 and 2 don't fit me."

Geez, I had to rip up the carpet in my bathroom last night so the floor could try to dry- it's all Peter Turkey Neck Reid's fault.

I think I have conquered one of the things that makes me late for group rides: now I put on sunscreen as soon as I get out of bed. Before it was last minute, only it takes longer than a minute!!

A thread I have been avoiding is "Cheat Day" or something. Because I don't want to disclose that I have been on a Cheat All-Inclusive January-July.

Today's ride should be nice- starting out at 75 and only getting to 87F. Doesn't look like much chance of rain. Then lunch at Tim's Fast Nickel, where Tim will be making barbeque. It's this tiny convenience store, made of concrete blocks, with bars in the door and windows. Some of the bars are painted on to make it look like more Most of the south cycling rides stop there. Before I knew Tim and wife- I thought it looked like and was in the neighborhood of where you'd go to buy crack- but out in the country. You see a lot of guys going and coming out with a beer in a paper sack. I'll take my camera.

Lise, the fish were always like that. My friends bought that house, and they were there. I'm the one who figured out how to get them to come out on land. Because I am an animal trouble maker! I also found out that you can kneel on the bank and they will line up with their mouths open and you just pour the food in. What hogs!! The place I work serves fried catfish for breakfast- can you believe that??I tried it once...um, no. But when I was a kid, at the cabin, sometimes we'd fish really early, then eat friend sunfish or bass for breakfast, so I guess that's kind of the same thing.

Sunscreen works better if it's been on a while before you go out in the sun too.

I love TD too. It's kinda like the TE playpen.

OMG - go out to dinner with your tri-girlfriends and go to bed early and then find 5 new pages of TD to catch up on in the morning.

A good friend bought me a first tri/40th birthday gift - a pink running cap and pink ribbon running socks. I would wear them sunday but they would seriously clash with the black and red tri gear that I have planned.

Between real life friends and TE/TD friends it is so awesome how supportive everyone I know has been. I should probably really mention dh in that - he has been great about time for training.

Now I just have to survive the actual event.

Good morning! I was up at 6am this morning, out the door at 6:30. I take my bike off the wall and as I put it down ..........NOOOOOOOOOOOOO a flat on the front! Crud! I had 2 tires blow after that! No tubes left. No bike ride for me. This only exacerbated the whole PMS thing. Mr. Fish was quite supportive, especially considering right when I came in the door the coffee pot broke at the same exact time. Something really needs to turn this day around!

Sorry to be such a pooper this morning. Hey, my day can only get better from here, right?

Nanci - I had a feeling you shot that video! That's nuts!

Nanci - I have the "last page" issue a lot. I think it's a cookie issue. They're not updating correctly.

Well - heading to watch the TDF.

They're just teasing us that it's the last page. It's never the last page at HSAI!

Nanci, congrats on the smilies! What do you think the problem was?

I challenge you to watch Peter Reid dominate at Kona and then call him turkey neck!

Brina, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Tell us about your upcoming tri! What's the event (Danskin?), how're you feeling, the exact layout of your transition area, ya know, just every little detail...

I went for a run this morning--doing better, but not yet where I want to be. I guess that's why they call it "training", eh?

Today I'm riding down to Lake Michigan and swimming in the wetsuit. I realized I was feeling like an imposter, not a real triathlete, not "deserving" of a wet suit. As if the "real" triathletes would laugh at me...well, they may. But I still would benefit from swim training in my wet suit.

fish--what a drag about the tires. What's up with that? Three new tires blew in sucession? ARGH!

Weird...the weather report says "winds: CALM" for where we are riding today.

    Calm winds? What are those?

maybe the winds had some tea? I'm nearby in Hayward, waiting for Spazzdog and Duck on Wheels to find my lair. The winds are calm.
