How is it that I take a couple weeks away from TD and you're already to over 600 posts? Egads! And once again I miss all the fun posts.

Knot, hope your thumb feels better soon. *sending healing vibes*

BM03, so sorry about the water! That's awful. Does the handsome garage door repairman do pipes, too?

As for me, I'm nearly at the end of one of the most boring days at work EVER. No one's here, and my work depends on other people, so I have had absolutely nothing to do. Think I've memorized every New York Times story, though.

Still coughing, but I'm feeling pretty good. Hopefully a few more days and I'll be finished with this cold.

Gonna ride with the new shoes tomorrow if I can work up the nerve. I'm afraid to take them out of the box they were so expensive.

Susie- My work is incredibly boring right now. I have a new position but they haven't figured out what to do with me. I am a wealth of knowledge on celebrity gossip and current events. I have also drooled over many a bike I won't be getting thanks to the IRS.

I was off today and slept until 1:00 pm. I think I will have a grumpy DH when he realizes I didn't do the laundry I said I was planning to do.

I had a half day off. Big plans, and instead I'm on the computer.

I'm feeling grumpy today anyway: slept badly, think I cracked another tooth (I need a new bite splint) from grinding in my sleep, my thumb is SORE, my neck hurts (from grinding my teeth in my sleep), my head hurts (ditto), and I think I'm getting a cold. And I have a BIG GIANT ZIT at the edge of my lip.

What is it with ZITS and gray hairs and wrinkles and a girly-moustache and sprouty beard hairs? It's not fair that we should get all of the above at the same time. There should be a limit. I'm too old for zits, fer gosh-sakes! And if I have to shave like my grandma did, then I shouldn't have to be shaving around ZITS.

Yeah, I might as well be home where I can't spread my zitty mood.

Sorry about the bad day, Knotted, and the broken pipe, BMo3. But I am having a great day. This is the first time in my life that I have ever been at work on my birthday, and I love it! Or maybe I love that I am not traveling or visiting relatives or dealing with things that I don't want to deal with. I chatted with someone at work today who also has relatives in Missouri, and we commiserated awhile. Later in the day, she and 3 others showed up in my office with a birthday cake. How cool is that?

Knot- is there something in the water?! I didn't think I was stressing that much but I *must* be. gr. I look like I'm 16 or something. Yay. Grr. Possible good fortune on the whole apartment hunting thing, though... That's good.

The market's closed, so fewer calls now @ work and I can get some stuff done. Woohoo!

OMG Knot!! ROTFLMFAO!!! I'm sitting here at work laughing hysterically and everyone is looking at me like I'm insane. Thanks. I really needed that today. You have no idea what you've done for me.

BMo3 - Should I just start driving over now? I have tools and skills. Call Home Depot and put them on alert.

Kit - I heard sis. Way to go. (((huge hug))) A month ago would you have said any of this would have happened? See, sometimes life is totally cool.

    CWR - thanks!!

Well, I better go look like I'm doing my share. It's quiet right now but the clique here can be harsh on us outsiders. Hmmm, maybe the cafeteria ladies need a taste tester?

Deb, Happy birthday from another Ex-missourian(I'm even wearing a SE Missouri State sweatshirt!)
OTG - i'm in the bored at work at club, too. Hopefully, they'll let us go at 3:30 (vs the usual 6:00)
BM03 - here lately every time I turn around, I break something at the apartment.
And I actaully have work to do ! Darn!

X- If anyone would've told me a month ago where I am and everything going on in my world, I would've been with total disbelief... and yet.... and yet some part of me would nod, say "It was about time!"

CWR- Smartazz. Yes. It was the force of Ohio's sudden freezeover that busted BMo3's pipes.

BMo3- I'm sorry about the whole 'working' thing. Were you anyone else, I'd offer to show up in my man-beater, bandanna and big tool belt (i.e. Aryn the Handygirl gear) to help repair whatever damage but... I don't know that that would be appreciated fully. The sentiment's there. Really.

    Deb- Woo! Happy Birthday!

Hey, wanna show up here? I've got a 4 day weekend and can't get to SF. Whine, weep, mope. I got a busted towel bar and a tub enclosure that needs recaulking. Maybe we could go to Costco and buy laminate flooring and do a stealth remodel of my cheap (but high rent) apt! Oooh, yeah! Hardwood floors! New countertops! Real wood (not pressboard) kitchen cabinets!

Of course, then they'd raise my rent some more, cuz the apt would be so much nicer... not that they don't raise it by $40 a month every year anyway... poopy.

I could wear my Butch Island Girl outfit (minus the grass skirt and coconuts, so it'd just be Butch.) We could stomp around Homo Depot in our black leather steel-toed boots... yeah!

Uhm.... Sure No tips necessary. *shoots a look at X to "put those dollar bills back, missy"* 'Butch' is not an outfit but a lifestyle... I've done my share of home improvement... floor laying, joist repair, insulation-laying, roofing, cement pouring, all manners of repair, drywall installation, window refinishing, etc.

*sigh* you just somehow reminded me that all my tools etc are in the shop, laying on and around "the bike". (!) along with my gloves (!) I'd completely forgotten. Huh. Well shazbat, I should probably put the pipes back on now that I *can* so I don't *lose* that stuff. And the chrome looks so much better now... *sigh* just hard to go out there and phutz with something like that all alone all night. I <3 shop work, but it's so much better to do that kind of stuff while shooting the sh*t with someone. And to think, I even managed to procure a big tub of molasses and still haven't done any work. Maybe I'll do *that* this weekend?

Oh, fwiw, molasses is a fantabulous rust remover.

... this has been a little peek into my stream-of-consciousness.... thank you

X, I could take pics for you. I'd charge a lot, of course. That's how I'd pay for the hardwood floors....

And for a Tomboy Femme like me, "Butch" is an outfit!

(but you know what they say, "Femme on the streets, butch in the sheets"....) (oops, I shouldn't've said that. But it's true.)

Pics? I don't know if you could charge *that* much for...
    well you could.... but...

I... uh... I think I'm 'butch' both ways, but I do have a decidedly womanly figure. Thankfully!
