Am I the only one who does not enjoy Thanksgiving food?
I love the day to be with my familya nd share what we are grateful for, but I could easily leave all the food.

I'm not much for a lot of the traditional T-day food; although I do like turkey and pumpkin pie. This year no one really felt like cooking, so we're having Thanksgiving in a box, courtesy of Safeway.

    well, off to T'day traffic.

For the last few years T'giving while at Mom's house has been a group effort with my helping out Mom on prep and others bringing dishes to share.

This year we are having dinner with friends of my brothers, so I'm off to hit the happy trail up to Sonoma, CA.

    see you later TE TD.

    wait!

Mimi-Salsa meant WA as in Perth, Western Australia...not Seattle, Washington...

I think we'll have to use WA(aust) to not confuse anyone...

    YOu ladies enjoy your turkey...

My sister drove up from PA and it took 11 hours instead of the usual 7. Thanksgiving, the busiest travel day of the year. Everyone be safe whereever you are going.

Everything is ready now except the Turkey. Cook. Cook. Cook.

    Hey TD. Happy Thanksgiving!

Bmo3 - hope you had a good run. I really don't enjoy the traditional tday food either. I really like a wild rice casserole someone always brings and dark turkey meat as well. I don't like pumpkin pie - I'd much rather have apple but there wasn't any there.

I'm home playing elefun with B. Looking forward to Greys Anatomy (mr. crabby pants didn't get a nap and is going to bed early ) I'll check in later.

Kit, glad that's stuck in your head

CC-it is fun chatting with you.

Dar-My run was awesome. It felt so good to work off the post-migraine fog, hopefully the migraine will stay away. It was not as cold as I would have liked it out.

I love Christmas trees and Christmas lights, but OMG, why are there so many up already????

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I did it! I totally stuck with my eating plan for today and I feel awesome. My plate was half full of veggies and salad, and I also enjoyed a roll, sweet potatoes and turkey with gravy. And I didn't go overboard on desserts as I had feared -- just one slice of pumpkin pie (my all time favorite) and 1/2 small slice of pumpkin roll. And I didn't snack or pick at chips, pretzels, candy, etc. Woo hoo!

BM03, I don't like a lot of turkey day foods ... mainly, I don't really care for turkey. I eat it, but I just don't love it. And I don't eat cranberry sauce. And don't particularly like stuffing. But I've grown fond of sweet potatoes in recent years and I'm well-known in the family for my pumpkin pie obsession.

I second the comment on Xmas decorations. Why are so many up, even in the days before Thanksgiving?

Well, I'm off to sleep. Going for a ride with AG tomorrow because the 3-hour spinning class was full. (Thank goodness. )

    Hi all,

I, on the other hand, went to work today. Starting to have to think about the Christmas concert now that the report cards are done. Geez, if it's not one thing, it's another. I'm looking forward to January so I can just teach for awhile.

So when do you usually cook the turkey? Wed or Thurs? Our thanksgiving day off is a Monday so some people cook it Sun and others wait till Monday.

BM3 - glad your migraine is gone! I woke up with quite a headache this morning but I think it's because I had a margarita just before I went to bed... I'm sticking to red wine tonight. One glass only.

I like the TG food, but only for one day. Well maybe turkey sandwiches for a second day but not the rest of it. Any kind of pie is fine with me...

I am desperate to get on a bike this weekend. We might go mountain biking in the snow on Saturday. Should be interesting. Might be softer when I fall...
