And she's on the hunt for the boy version of the young chippie I've seen it before in other friends who've gotten divorced. Hopefully she will survive this without too much damage.

Yes, well I remember being very scared and very lonely years ago after my old divorce. Not a fun place to be. Good to have girlfriends.

Mimi plays oldtime music too, did you know?
No I didn't know that! What does she play? My hubby plays guitar and we both sing, although he's better than me at both singing and guitar. He likes mostly folk music but I like all kinds. We're doing a 50's musical with our staff at school and will performing for the kids and parents. Lots of fun!

Yeah, I snark on her; but if she really needs me or any of our group, we'll be there for her.

Haha, my ex bought a brand new vette when we divorced and had his fair share of "chippies."

I'll let Mimi answer her music question herself.

It's so good for the soul to play music of any kind or to sing, even just in the shower for yourself, or to dance. Making music for fun is becoming rarer as we become a nation of just listeners. Good that the schools are trying to keep it alive! Good for you and your husband doing that.

I'd camp outside of our military housing in Bad Tolz Germany in an army tent with no floor. I'd play my "recorder" (old timey flute thingy)...does that count as "band camp"?

you heard the song, mamma plays bass, dad plays the fiddle?
and my younger son plays fiddle and my older son is a graduate student still "studying" french horn.

And we've all 4 been to band camp.
One year, at band camp, I got up in the morning, and there were still guys jamming, they thought it was still the night before!
