Hmmm....les'see if I remember from anthro class: the elbow (unless you're very young and the bones haven't fused) is actually part of the ulna bone, which is one of the forearm bones. The other forearm bone is the radius. The upper arm bone is the humerus (nothin' funny about it tho').
Speaking of breaking bones, interesting timing that my oldest son's friend two doors down recently broke his forearm while riding his scooter (ate it right in front of me)...I think his break was to the radius (haven't seen the x-rays, so don't know for sure). I got to play nurse by splinting it and driving him and his older sister to the hospital, as his parents weren't home. The whole incident peaked my son's interest in anatomy, so we've been poring over our recent Barnes & Noble purchase on human anatomy. Interesting stuff.
