I had no issue with my system after the procedure. I came home and ate a ton of Indian food . It was painful to eat the low fiber diet before, though.
I drank all of that stuff and my doctor said that I still "wasn't cleaned out" that well. Who knows. My DH was so out of it when he had his, he called me from his cell phone in recovery and never remembered it. He slept for most of the rest of the day. I was wide awake during the whole thing, conversed with both the doctor and nurse, and watched the images on the monitor. I didn't feel pain, but I was awake.

It's a kind of biscotti, a hard cookie made with red wine. I think they're Sicilian. They're easy to bake, and last a long time. I made a batch a couple of weeks ago, and my friend made a batch last week, so I'll be posting about these for a while.

Are they a little sweet; or are they more savory?

    They're sweet.

    Here's my recipe:

    4 to 4 1/2 cups flour
3/4 to 1 cup sugar (I like them sweet, so I use the full cup)
    2 t salt
    1 T baking powder
    1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup full bodied red wine

Preheat over to 350º. Mix dry ingredients. Add oil and wine and mix until well blended with a wooden spoon. Turn onto board and kneed for one minute. Shape into loops or twists. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 40-45 minutes. You can brush with an egg white and water before baking for a glaze, if desired.

Edit, they're not good on the bike. They're too dry, and hard to swallow. Learned from experience.

Make sure you get some yogurt or other live-culture goodies post-procedure to help your system settle.
I eat yogurt daily anyway, but thanks for the tip!

No Go Litely anymore. Now I just get to mix some Miralax powder with a certain type of GatorAid. Everything is OTC now. Thank heavens. I heard how metallic-tasting and awful that old stuff used to be. I still have to purchase all the official "prep" stuff as I start that Saturday night w/a couple spoonfuls of Milk of Magnesia, then do the liquid diet/prep on Sunday.

Went to the store and stocked up on low-fiber foods tonight...so strange to be looking for things with < 2g fiber per serving! I bought some rice pilaf, canned green bean/skinless white potato blend, little containers of applesauce, pulp-free oj, vanilla yogurt... Will also have chicken and fish, cheese, eggs. My DH made me some white bread for sandwiches (turkey and cheese). This is a big change from my usual diet of beans, kale, spinach, whole grains, whole fruits, veggie/fruit smoothies, etc!

Here was my day today - shameful:

B - Puffed wheat cereal w/spoonful of protein powder, almond milk, coffee
S - Reese's chocolate/peanut butter egg (gift from my mom, very decadent!)
    30 minute run
L - turkey/cheese sandwich on white bread, small bottle of pulp-free OJ
    S - 6 white rice crackers
    D - Mac and cheese, 1 beer
Dessert - couple spoonfuls of vanilla yogurt, 2 thin biscuit-type cookies w/thin spread of Nutella

    Nothing green all day. Ugh!

I hope I sleep through it and after -- if I'm going to blow a PTO (paid time off) day, I might as well get some rest. My DH was awake for his, but my step-father said he totally snoozes through his. I snooze through "conscious sedation" at the dentist so may be more likely to be out of it. Neither my DH or I has been to this particular doc, so we don't know how much anesthesia they'll give, though I have to have my DH take me there and back due to the sedation.

Well, I react strangely to medication. I know I had Valium, mixed with something else... it definitely did not make me sleep. I could have driven home, but DH picked me up.
