BMO3, why do you need tests???

Mainly they need to determine how much damage the stroke caused. They are also looking for clots, bleeds or other potential problems. As long as they are at it, they will see if I will have a seizure again--I have not had one in about 14 years. Oh joy.

Today at my department's All Hands Meeting, we had a guest speaker talk about preparing for pandemic flu. Initially kinda scary; but very interesting. I found out that if we are hit with a pandemic, there is a good chance I would be put to work helping with patient care. All county employees are disaster workers, and expected to help out where ever they are needed. I have no specialized training, I'd probably end up changing sheets and bed pans.

And when they asked the proper way to sneeze or cough - I got it right! In our sleeves! See, TE is a font of information......

Swampwalker David Carroll (naturalist, artist, author, and turtle expert) recently won a MacArthur genius grant. I've read 2 of his books ("The Swampwalker" and "Self-Portrait with Turtles") and this man's powers of observation are truly amazing. Has anyone else (Nanci?) read his books? I highly recommend them. And what is Carroll going to do with his $500,000 award prize money? He's going to buy health insurance for the first time in 30 years, according to an article in the Boston Globe.
