I see some blue stuff right now! It's amazing, I actually had to put on sunglasses for my drive home.

sk - hope all goes well with your dad. Why is it they wait until we get pissy to do something? My folks are the same way.

    Soooo Sorry!

It's always hard when parents start to have health problems, so I really sympathize with you kiddo. Prayers for your folks from my end of the world.

I second the ice cream. It always made me feel better demolishing a half gallon of extremely chocolately fudge supreme something or other... haven't had any in a monkey's age...or was that a coon's age? Wonder what a chocolate coon tastes like? The only thing blue here is my new bike!

Thanks, everyone. My mother is somewhat of a hypochondriac and Dad is the opposite. Since he's the one that's off in his own little world (Earth to Dad was frequently heard in our house) and was taught not to "rock the boat" he frequently waits to say anything or pooh-poohs symptoms.

As of Tuesday morning we won't be near a phone for 5 days. The real boondocks. Back of beyond. Not that I can do anything useful but fret.

V, I bought your favorite quiche for dinner and some sugar snap peas to go with it. Normally when Bill's out of town my diet goes to heck in a handbasket. I was trying so hard to be good. Nutty-Buddies with a caramel center. Maybe the puppy and I need an outing.

What kind of fruit in Chunky Monkey?

It must be contagious for it was very blue here today as well - gotta love those high pressure systems. It was a bit chilly at the start of the 50 mile club ride this morning but warmed up nicely after the lunch stop. It was a beautiful day, a great day to be on vacation and on my bike.

Bananas. So it is good training food. (Ben & Jerry's).

Bananas and chocolate, right? If there isn't chocolate, it isn't ice cream.

Yeah, chunks of chocolate and, I think walnuts. With banana ice cream. Stop me before I do damage. I should just have a glass of wine now so I am not tempted to get in the car and get some..... The broccoli is in the steamer. Whole Foods turkey meatloaf in the over with red sauce all over it.... I really don't need chunky monkey.

Wow - V was right, these threads all do degenerate into food, don't they?

What did this start out as? Oh, yeah. Strange blue stuff up above.

SK-- sorry to hear about your dad. I sympathize. My Mom gets embarrassed about symptoms, so she omits information, makes up other information, etc. Hard to know when to get pissy and insistant, and when to "leave her be". Glad to hear your dad's docs are taking him seriously. Best wishes.

Dianyla-- you cracked me up about "the precioussssss". There's a nurse at work who calls everyone "precious". I can't help but see Gollum in his cave every time she says it. I don't think that's quite what she intends!

And, finally, since everything comes back to food, allow me to comment on how extraordinarily unsatisfying fat-free frozen yogurt is, even if it is chocolate. Blech. I need me some real ice cream! Ever tried Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby? Chocolate with pretzels and caramel and I don't even remember what else since it's been that long since I've let myself eat any. What's wrong with you people?! Don't you know ice cream is good for you. It has calcium. I've lost 5 pounds on the Klondike for dessert diet I've been on since December.

Nah, this calls for mindless entertainment - watch Lost.

I need to go buy Chunky Monkey - sounds too good.
