Talked to my LBS. Flosshilde is ready to come home! I got her pedals right here, debating asking them to put 'em on, or if I should now that I know how.

gotta go to my boss's birthday lunch now. On my afternoon off, too. Hey, that's employee loyalty.

Got my car tire fixed (free) at Les Schwab.

    see yas later.

I read somewhere that octopi change color according to mood?

What color is a happy octopus?

Knotted, the bar tape's in the mail. I went to USPO in the Kaiser bldg, long line, trotted to downtown where there's a small and little known office.

    We want pictures!

Whopee. Made it for 5 minutes of the birthday lunch. ('s ok, really) Gonna pick up SKnot after school and then go get Flosshilde. About 1 1/2 hours from now. It's wildly rainy and windy here, so I won't be riding tonight.

Trek, I'm hoping the TE gals going on Flossie's inagural ride this weekend will be able to help me wrap the bars with the new tape if I get stuck. (I haven't wrapped bars in 10 years or so.) I will post pics then!

I've already got my shopping list for the LBS this afternoon. Hey, that's what Visa is for, right?

Got my eyes on a seatpost rack and one of those "trunk" bags with the fold-out panniers.

Sweet. Tell Flosshilde that your TE friends send their love.

When I said glowing things about the stability of my trunk bag, it wasn't attached to a seatpost rack but to an old Blackburn touring rack attached to my dropouts and brake bolt. Not that a seatpost rack might not be wonderful too, I just have no personal experience with one. Just thought I should clarify that.

    Re: menopause.
I started this a couple of months ago. The hot flashes were a sure sign. That plus no periods (yay!), and I'm 50.

Hot flashes were happening many times a day. Then I read Andy Pruitt's book on cycling. There's a section on the "aging cyclist" where he talks about supplements designed to manage estrogen. I started taking the Beta 3 fish oil and Carnitine.

    The hot flashes stopped.

    Is that wild, or what??

wheew - my resident kitty is totally accepting the new kitten. We lost his elderly cat companion recently and we thought we shouldn't let him be alone too long so we adopted a new kitten on Monday. She's really lovely. Her fur is light grey at its tips so she almost appears to be silver, wth very faint darker grey tabby markings. I'll have to see if I can get a picture of her.

Yay! I do think cats do better with a pal. Looking forward to her pictures!

    Flossie drew blood.

I was running my hands down her seat tube (rubbing off some of the sticky-goo left from shipping) and ran over the bolt for the FD bracket. Slit my pinky and I bled all juicy-like.

    Does that mean we've bonded?

I dunno. Flossie's a mix. The LBS guys were impressed that Limewave was able to mix Campy and Shimano like she did on Flossie.

Dang, this bike is beautiful. (and will be even sexier with new bar tape)

My cut is scabbed over and has stopped oozing. Guess I'd better work on that bolt with an emery board.
