Bruno, I could post recommendations, but do you get much American wine? That's mostly what I drink.

An evil friend of BF's that's a flight attendent sent us Roomboterstroopwafels from Amsterdam. As you would expect from a city where hash is legal, I cannot stop eating them. Picture a round cookie/wafer, with indentations like a waffle, with butter and maple syrup built in. Yup.
The good news is, the chicken farfale with sun dried tomatoes for dinner was also delicious, as was the Cline Big Red Truck wine. Extremely tannic, but also very fruity. Can't taste the alcohol. Perfect. I logged it as tasting like chocolate cherries black pepper black currant.

I'm afraid if i read all 200 pages, I will know too much about all of you guys. I did do some random dives in. I must say I'm impressed, there is a bit of coherence here.
So I will announce that i am getting that pair of tiger striped shorts that's been on sale on TE for all this time. I thought i was a medium, but i measured myself and i fit the small (which was the biggest size left.) those will be fun to wear.
When work is slow (which it is for me 1/2 the time) I do need lots of reading material...
just got back from doing berry surveys. not alot of berries, no bears either, but i did see alot of bear poop for a certain someone that was REALLY mushy.
the day actually turned out good. though now i'm exausted from hiking around the tundra all day. you would never guess how hard it is to find a marker in the tundra, even with a gps and compass.

CWR, sounds like a cool job if you can go tromping through the tundra all day. I hope you got to eat some of the berries you found.Originally Posted by chickwhorips

ooooohhhh, stroopwafels are the greatest cookies on earth.. i used to work for a dutch bank and whenever anybody from the chicago office had to go to holland they would have to bring them back for the entire office. I miss them so. The one available in the US are always made with margerine (gotta be the real butter ones), or like the ones at whole food, they mess with perfection and add like maple syrup. not that I dislike maple syrup, but it has no place in a stroopwafel.Originally Posted by Nanci

Shouldn't there be a search function on this thread, so us latecomers can cheat on the test? Oh wait, there it is, right on the button up there ... test problem solved!
Cline Big Red, YUM! That's one of our house wines. I certainly didn't expect to find wine chat to accompany tri chat, so what a pleasant surprise.
Some of you were mentioning recently that you like fruity whites. We recently had a delicious bottle of Alexander Valley Vineyards New Gewurz 2005. Gewurztraminer from the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, CA. Foretaste was peaches and honeysuckle, aftertaste was spicy, kinda like ginger beer. Had a nice malic acid fizziness to the texture. YUM! And to make it even better, I think we paid $8 for it at World Market.
i figure i'm lucky considering i'm the administrative person, but we are such a small staff on such a large refuge i get to do fun things. didn't eat any of the berries today. they weren't the good kind you can pop in your mouth. though they are really good in the spring after they've been frozen.Originally Posted by DebW

Be VERY careful, CWR. Accidents happen, esp. out in the woods where there aren't any witnesses, etc. That's a very nice but ... uh... dangerous job, and I'd hate for you to disappear or anything and randomly show up in Portland so I'd have to temporarily take your job.Originally Posted by chickwhorips

The vendors accepted our offer on the house....Can you tell i'm a bit surprised???
Ian and I are still wondering if we've made the right decision...but it has no gardening required, no renovations, and is less than 2yrs old...AND...It's right down the street from the bike path...We'll be commuting 30km/day & can add more on if we want to..![]()

Have a good afternoon kids.
Congratulations cc! I think it's a lovely house, looks very low maintenance - the best kind.
WW weigh-in did not go well today, up 2 lbs! Must be the Irish Lamb Stew catching up with me (and the Lemon Drops.....)
Mimi, I have two pairs of Trashy Cat shorts both of which I like a lot- the Balck Satins which I love, and the Sunflowers which I like a lot. I bet you will like the Tigers! I wonder what the chamois is like...

I can't wait to get home to my stroopwaffels. I have both kinds- with and without syrup. I have only had the syrup so far- OMG!!! I can't imagine they'd be better without it. I think I ate three last night. I'm not looking at how many calories they have.
