Well, multiple breakfasts work well for hobbits, so why not us too ?

The next unreserved train (unreserved gives us flexibility for return trips, exchanges, etc.) wouldn't arrive until 10:50. Therefore, the only practical one. Normally, this schedule wouldn't be a big deal but we're on our Winter schedule (as in hard to wake up in the dark unless your spouse is using unladylike 4-letter words).![]()
I'm sure that we can entertain ourselves if everyone wants to sleep in (and I can't blame them).
We'll probably have coffee and a pasty with us on the train because I have to have calories by 8 or so. But, what's another another pastry among friends? Or call it brunch and I could probably last until late in the afternoon for lunch. You'll always know when I need to be fed because I get crabby. Ok, feel free to say "Now how would we tell that!?"![]()

You pretty much can't swing a cat, dead or otherwise, without hitting a restaurant in downtown San Jose. Here are a few that serve breakfast:
City Bar and Grill at the Hilton
Arcadia at the Marriott
Original Joes
Il Fornaio
Cafe Primo
Peggy Sue's
Don't know what the food or prices are like though......I've only had dinner at Original Joes.

Second breakfast would be OK with me, or lunch, or both. I haven't thought about my arrival time, but I'm very lazy this time of year - 10:30 or 11:00 sounds doable.
We'll be there too. Pick a place for coffee, etc. and we'll meet you there around 9:30.

The Amtrak station is near the HP Pavillion, and there are lots of places to eat, especially east of there.
Peggy Sue's on Park Ave. seems to have a good breakfast menu, if you're OK with the 50's kitsch.

Sounds like a plan.

Heh, it occurred to me to see if we could find a place that's close to the convention center, and it looks like Park Ave (where Peggy Sue's is loacated) is only a couple of blocks away

The Plan of the Moment is to meet at Peggy Sue's, 183 Park Ave in San Jose, at ~ 9:30 on Saturday.
If the Amtrak is on time (i.e. if h*ll freezes over)then we might be a little bit earlier than that.
Since it's close to the convention center you can park there or at one of the other nearby lots. Here's a nifty interactive map of the parking lots in that vicinity.

According to Peggy Sue's website, it's located in the same building as the Park Ave garage, and they validate on weekends (probably only for a short length of time, but might be worth looking into).
Okey-dokey! Tour Guide Jobob is putting together an egg-zellent plan! Now, the question is whether it is enough to tempt snap and kim.
Thank, Jo. I'm off to round up a bunch of alarm clocks for strategic placement.

Barring my untimely death by runny nose,I will be there. I'm planning on taking the light rail in.

You and jo are quite the comedy duo. She didn't name a price for her wake up call service.
I just re-read my earlier post!My proofreading was obviously very cursory. No, there will be no lap dances on the train.

Okay, ~9:30 on Saturday at Peggy Sue's. Got it.
You going to need a wake-up call also?
