    System: Windows XP Pro

Browser = Google Chrome ...because I never liked IE (too slow and too much screen space eaten up by the browser itself) and Firefox has become slow (started using it when it first came out and abandoned it over a year ago).

Firewall = Windows XP Pro firewall ...because it is simple (but not necessarily optimal)

Anti-virus = Avast (free, effective) ...I Used to have AVG (also free) but abandoned it because I felt it was slowing the system down too much.

Firefox (have not had any trouble with it) and both Avast and Malware - we've gone through the experience of "losing" a computer to a virus attack - we were using icky Norton back then - and would prefer not to have a repeat!

I'm using Google Chrome right now. It seems okay, although the bookmarks aren't as easy to organize as I'd like.

I use Firefox and never have any problems with it. Have you tried Google Chrome? II didn't have much luck with it, but maybe it would work better for you than it did for me.

Mostly I use Firefox. Although I do have to use IE on occasion for one of the the companies I work for, their site doesn't always like Firefox. For protection I have Advanced System Care, Security Essentials, Malware and something else, plus CC Cleaner. May have another one or two programs on here. I got a bad virus a couple months ago and hubby had to add a couple of security things to my computer. Maybe I need a 2nd computer, 1 for work and 1 for every thing else.

Another Mac gal here. I mostly use Safari, but I have Firefox installed for those sites that just don't load well with Safari. I have Ghostery installed to stop the tracking software (Google Analytics, et al).
