Now that I've slept on it, I'm pretty happy with what I did and maybe ... maybe ... I might still shoot for the Solvang double.
It was nice to have someone else take over the role of Chief Whiner for the day, but just remember it is normally my job. Your job is superhero in training, and I have no doubt you will achieve superhero status in October.

Except for the traffic - which I guess wouldn't have been such a problem if I hadn't wanted to start late (mea culpa) - I really enjoyed the ride. I was really worried about both the distance and the elevation gain, and whenever the road tilted up almost immediately went to my 30x27, a gear I normally save until I'm really suffering. But survival mode worked, and I didn't have to join the whine chorus until near the end.

    Well done girls!!!
LOL that profile just looks plain scary and not at all like rollers. SILLY JO!!!!
    WHAT ROLLERS??

You will be fine for your double.

Hee Hee good to see you gave Kim a run for her money as chief whiner.

Personally I think Kim needs to ride more with me and then she would know what a good whine sounds like.

Goodness. Would it be TMI to inquire further?

Perhaps we need to hook your butt up to an e-meter and do some auditing?

Oh - and on the traffic thing. I feel I have to say something since these are my usual training roads: I never ever take 1 to Stinson on a weekend after about 9 am, especially in the summer. Never. So that is a fantastic route, really - you just need to do it super early or during the week.

So far the thetan exorcism (I am sure there's a word they actually use) has involved a lot of stretching. I just rode my friend's horse bareback (since I forgot my boots) and wow my butt felt better than on a saddle (horse or bike) but holy cow were my hamstrings and glutes tight. Wow. So stretching is my first line of defense.
