any of you gals in Northern CA the Velo Girls have a coed ride for single cyclists....with a screening process.

I read in the ride report that Lorri asks all for a show of (gloveless) left hands before the ride and...because you can take that ring off jokingly announced that photos of the ride will be (and are) posted online.

So anyone not qualified to be dipping their toes in the dating pool risks "that the he)) were you doing at the ...."

The coed ride was last Saturday but is the first Saturday of the month.

There's a single girls who like girls ride the 2nd Saturday of the month. I just climbed out of the dating pool, toweling off, trying to get the water out of my ears....I'm not going.

I understand that we do not do the photo thing there because obviously not everyone is out to the same extent so that's understandable.

Both rides are relatively easy but tend to have two groups, fast group, slower group.

Yes, but I'm very proud to have played a small part in forming the idea of the women only singles ride. Only in San Francisco eh? Hope the idea catches on.

It's so hard to meet active dates....online. I mean think about it, what are the odds of meeting a date or even friends who likes to go outside.....by sitting at a computer screen?

Anyone been told by a potential date "you ride ___ miles? you must be nuts to ride that far" there was no second date or u-haul

Well, I think they are nuts not to work out but then "you like the legs? then I gotta ride my bike"

In my case, it's "you like the sanity? then I gotta ride my bike."

    >>Because of my current back injury, I've been given Vicodin... I can see why folks get hooked on this stuff. Last two nights I've actually gotten some rest; at least 6 hours sleep - Whoo Hoo! But I can't take this stuff forever (can I?).<<

    I wouldn't.

I have been dealing with some middle-of-the-road whiplash since my Beetle was creamed by a street sweeper last month. I have Vicodin. I don't have to take it every day, so I only take it occasionally. At first I was taking it every night. After a few days, I got in this really weird funk. Then I didn't take it for a while. But when I did, the next day I was in the weird funk again, barely willing to get out of bed, pissed off at everything. It took a couple of episodes for me to relate it to the Vicodin. I'm not saying that's THE cause, but it's enough of a correlation to make me pause before I take it again.

I've had it before for different things--ovarian cyst, herniated disks, and didn't notice this symptom, but it could just be I wasn't paying attention. But I think I've sworn off the stuff, pretty much.

Hope your back feels better soon. I once stood up, nearly sobbing, on a crowded airplane as much as they would let me for a whole flight from Tampa to Detroit because of a herniated disk. No fun.
