My trainer is also an athletic nutrition expert and he just reviewed my diet in detail. Tony gave it the sign of approval...outside of slapping my hands for not eating enough on rest days.
Yesterday:
B: eggs scrambled with spinach, 2 small slices fresh side, coffee
1 hour group training followed by a protein shake
S: strawberries and fresh pineapple
L: last of the beef brisket and roasted carrots from the night before
D: roasted chicken and a large salad with veggies, blue cheese, and a bit of hazelnut oil for dressing.

B: omelet and 2 small sweet potato pancakes (love those things, and so easy to make!), coffee
1 hour hard group training session followed by protein shake
L: sweet potato pancake 'sandwich' with grass-fed beef (last of both), and spinach/strawberry salad
S: small banana
D: Last of the chicken sausage in a lettuce wrap, roasted sweet potato, fresh strawberries/blueberries with 2 chopped squares of 88% dark chocolate (lovely!)
Thinking about trying roasted eggplant slices as my next "sandwich" material

						Chinese broccoli? I've not heard of that before, will have to look it up. I love the mixture of eggs and spinach so much that it is hard for me to mix up my morning veggies. I need to introduce more veggie variety.

D: went out ith a friend to an Italian retaurant. Had an amazing dish of grilled eggplant smothered with arugula, fresh mozzarella, tomato, and fig vinegar, one glass of red wine
I felt good I didn't have pasta!

Crankin - that Italian dish sounds amazing and I generally don't like eggplant! Sarah Fragoso is coming out with an Italian inspired paleo cookbook and I can't wait to try it for recipes like that one.
Catrin - Chinese broccoli is a new discovery for us (our CSA grows it) and it's awesome! It's kind of like regular broccoli but the heads are much, much smaller, the stems are more tender and you eat all the leaves. It's almost like a combo of kale and broccoli in one veggie.
Today
B: chicken apple sausage, 1/2 apple, almond butter, leftover chinese broccoli sauteed in bacon fat, black coffee
L: homemade chicken salad over greens and red pepper strips, 1/2 apple
S: banana
D: baked chicken thighs, greens salad, stirfry of bok choy, carrots, scallions and purple sprouting broccoli
And lets be realistic - I'm certain I'll have some dark chocolate after dinner.
Activity - run after work (2 miles)

						My weight has been dropping like crazy since I dropped the Paleo and went back to my Mediterranean type diet. In fact, yesterday morning it was a little too low, so I had 2 "sandwiches."
B:low salt ham (3 slices) and cheddar on a whole wheat bagel, blueberries, coffee
3 mile run, that was mostly running, with a little walking
L: I went to the natural foods market and bought kale soup and curried tofu salad and ate all of it.
S: walnuts
D: chicken sandwich on spelt bread, with tomatoes, avocado, mustard, cole slaw, an orange, glass of red wine

I sort of took a rest day, but ended up walking on the TM for 25 minutes, with 3 run intervals and doing all of my PT stretches (which is turning into a full time job)
L: was out shopping, in the pouring rain, so ended up at Nashoba Brook Bakery, whre I had some kind of vegetarian sandwich; I seriously don't remember, except it had "guacamole" made of peas and some apple slices on whole wheat
D: salad Nicoise with fresh tuna, glass of red wine
