I won't get into what I ate when I was on vacation. None of it was really awfully unhealthy (i.e. fried or sugary), but I did have a lot of bread and other grains that I don't normally eat. I did manage to only have dessert one night out of 3, so that was an accomplishment.
I am still sick, but somewhat on the mend. No semblance of normal exercise yet, although I did one hard snow shoe and one pretty intense nordic ski, due to conditions during the weekend. I did nothing but eat yesterday. Today I did a very light 30 minute work out on the trainer, like one of those old ladies at the gym that just sits and spins slowly. Since that started a bit of wheezing, tomorrow will be yoga and some weights. I am hoping to be able to go to spin or do the trainer on Wednesday.
B: 2 eggs and some egg whites with kale, an orange and blueberries, coffee, 6 oz. almond milk
L: we had no food in the house, so I rolled up a whole wheat tortilla and put the last of my hummus inside, which I ate in the car, in between clients. It's a weird day, since it's school vacation week here, so I saw 3 clients, even though my office is closed.
S: nuts and cranberries, a piece of cheese when I got home, and 2 whole wheat pita rounds and more hummus
D: 3 very small chicken thighs, sweet potato, broccoli, 2 squares dark chocolate
S: just finished about 4 oz. plain Greek non fat yogurt with blueberries, to help with the effects of the antibiotic I took

Well, I'm back home but we are still a little short of prepped food in the house. I will remedy that this evening.

    Today
B: eggs with spinach, topped with salsa and avocado, black coffee
L: two chicken apple sausages and a pile of mixed veggies steamed and drizzled with olive oil
    S: handful of mixed nuts
D: grilled salmon, mixed greens salad, and a baked sweet potato (topped with cranberries and macadamia nuts)

Becky - I just saw this! I should have posted more of my meals. This trip was weird because I stayed at my parent's house for half of it, so it was 'cheating' in terms of traveling while paleo.

I leave again next week for a trip to New England, so I'll be sure to post more then. Basically, I always look for TJ's or Whole Foods to stock a hotel room fridge and then Chipotle (their carnitas are Whole30 compliant) or Panera for restaurant options. Steak houses are typically pretty good too. I also always carry a container of olive oil/vinegar in my liquids bag, a couple of pouches of tuna and a couple of packets of Justin's almond butter for emergencies. Grab a banana from Starbucks and squirt almond butter on it and that'll hold me for hours. And it's usually possible to find veggie salads in airports, so with my own tuna and salad dressing, I'm good to go.

So the only meal I've had today is dinner, unless you count the cup of coffee around lunch time: Chicken breast (honey Dijon-marinated), brown rice, big pile of kale cooked in bacon fat (and the bacon)

Pre-dinner snack: a bit of chocolate, small bowl of Greek yogurt with apples, walnuts and a bit of granola
At least I don't leave slime trails.

    Yesterday:

B: eggs and spinach, 1 thin slice fresh side pork, coffee
1 hour hard workout followed by 1 boiled egg & 1/2 banana

L: This was in the planning for quite some time Several co-workers and I went to Fogo de Chao for lunch - lots and lots of meat - and veggies. I certainly got my money's worth and didn't need to eat for the rest of the day! Yeah, I ate far too much meat - and enjoyed every bite of it Oh yes, there was also a good amount of plantains, and a (very) small salad.

    Today:

    B: see brekkie from yesterday
another workout followed by boiled egg whites and the other half of that banana from yesterday
L: sirloin steak, steamed carrots, blackberries
D: Citrus carnitas, sauteed kale and a baked plantain

Aneila - personally I would choose the pork steak and veggies - but I don't eat pasta...

did a half hour on the trainer, including 2X1 min intervals in an easy gear and then 5X2 min intervals in a very hard gear
B: stir fry with salmon, sweet potato, kale, an orange, coffee
    S: nuts, chocolate, cranberries
L: went out with DH. Had a cup of split pea and ham soup, G-d knows what was in it, but it was delicious. Then a salad with arugula and pecan encrusted chicken breast. There was a little goat cheese in there, too.
S: 3 slices of low salt ham rolled up with mayo
D: 3 Czech meatballs with mashed cauliflower, salad with romaine, green onions, cranberries, chocolate vinegar, glass of red wine. I used ground turkey, instead of the lamb in the recipe, but that's all I had.

Yummm Crankin, I LOVE the Czech meatball recipe! I also like your idea about a salmon stir fry for breakfast - I need to do that soon and mix things up. I get in ruts for breakfast - I have my timing down to a science

    Today:

B: eggs scrambled with parsley, 1 thin slice "bacon" (side pork), and coffee without cream! I've set dairy aside for a month and I am finding out that I actually like black coffee (which is a shock)
    1 hour workout - post-workout snack of 1 boiled egg + strawberries
L: roasted chicken salad made with a few veggies, home-made mayo (hazelnut oil) over baby spinach and more strawberries
D: last of the citrus carnitas and a parsley/fennel salad with a bit of extra-virgin olive oil. blueberries for dessert.

I want to try a salmon cake recipe tomorrow or Friday evening, I've some canned wild salmon that keeps getting my attention. Of course, I COULD make a scramble out of that in the morning...hmmm

6 oz. almond milk, handful of walnuts, 2 dried apricots before boot camp.
B:4 slices chicken breast over sliced tomatoes, with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar, 1/4 avocado, blueberries, coffee
S: nuts and cranberries, more coffee
L: I am in a 2 day seminar. They provided sandwiches, chips, cookies. Ugh. I took half of one sandwich (which were on horrible dry looking white rolls), and ate the turkey, on a pile of lettuce and tomatoes. I squirted some mayo on this, as the turkey was really dry. Luckily, I had brought an apple, but about 1.5 hrs. later I was starving. Really starving. So, I took half a tuna sandwich, scraped off the tuna salad and ate it as a snack, much to the dismay of my co-workers who were munching on cookies.
S: an orange and a small piece of Machengo cheese.
D: 2 thin pork chops with paprika/cumin rub, mashed butternut squash, roasted brussel sprouts, 2 squares dark chocolate.

B: eggs scrambled with kale, bacon, coffee
    L: carnitas and a parsley/fennel salad
S: boiled egg and a banana (starving for some reason)
D: A nice salad while at the advisory board committee meeting at my gym, not enough protien though so I had a roasted chicken thigh when I got home.

walnuts and a small glass of almond milk before 5:30 AM spin class
B:2 eggs poached over a hash of sweet potatoes and kale
L: 1/4 avocado, 3 left over Czech meatballs, left over butternut squash puree, an apple
S: nuts and cranberries with chocolate bits
D: after 2 days of sitting 8 hrs. in a seminar, I decided I wanted to go out. We went to a very local lovely restaurant where I had a large cup of beet soup, and I got adventurous
with my entree: roasted rabbit with purple brussel sprouts and pureed squash. That part was healthy.
Not so much the 2 glasses of red wine and splitting an apricot bread pudding with pear ice cream.
