Yes! Isaac is so named because I got him from a shelter when I thought Ariel had gone missing forever. I wanted joy back in my life, so I named him for laughter. The day after I brought him home, a neighbor found Ariel (whose name means Lion of God). Poor little beast was down 20% of her body weight and was terrified. She'd run out the door one day when I was bringing in laundry. I didn't notice she was gone until the next morning, because she can be (or was) a pretty secretive cat. Can't even tell you how miserable I was with her gone. She was gone for 7 days. I went out looking for her morning and night...put up signs all over the neighborhood...and of course she was found under the bushes of a neighbor's house. Fortunately she had a collar and tag on.

She was not thrilled to find Isaac in her home! Took about 6 months before she could look at him without hissing. They're best buddies now, 14 years later.

I took Chloe in for her booster shots today. Because she had a reaction to them last time, she has to stay at the vets for a couple hours. It's so quiet around the house right now!

Oh, and Beta - there will be a test!

Yeah, it's a question of you can drink that caffeine, but you'll feel like there's dark matter collapsing into itself in your chest every couple of minutes... (like the dramatic astronomy analogy?! )...or you can cut back on the caffeine. Blech. Well, which is worse? OK, the feeling of my heart misfiring is preeeetty darned unpleasant! I bought some decaf French Roast last night. Of course, I had just stocked the freezer with regular French Roast! ARGH!

Hope the Chloester is fine and home soon.

Yeah, beta, the test is a) name everybody Lise's dated this year AND b) name all the wines everybody else has drunk! (fortunately part "b" is considerably longer than part "a". Fortunate for me. Not for you. Bwahahahaha! )

i'm a danger to the new people out in the bush that aren't use to seeing a cyclist. they don't know whether to hit me, stay away from me or what.

i actually had one car drive by me 3 times in less than 5 mins trying to figure out if what they saw was right. i waved everytime too, the the looks kept getting stranger. i think they thought they were hallucinating.

I have makeup on!! I had to document this moment! I took myself to the Clinique counter today, because one should probably purchase new stuff more often than once every six years. I feel spoiled.

I could *totally* get used to this not working thing. I'm glad it's only for a short amount of time (or I would spend all of my money) but it sure is nice!

    Blech

This morning I overslept, so no run. Waited 'til ~6 PM so it would be a bit cooler, and at least not sunny. Fine. 82 degrees. OK. Ran 2.75 miles. Did not feel great. Chest pressure. Stopped at one point and counted. 18 PVCs in one minute. No wonder. This sucks. No pain, no shortness of breath...well, gasping for breath, but just the usual!

Good news is, my legs feel fine, not even tired. I'm thinking, how can I get faster when my heart mis-fires so many times? Blech.

Okay - that is super scary and weird. Have you ever had this before? Why the heck are you getting it now?? What is causing it??? Can it be controlled - other than skipping caffeine? What the heck!!?!?

I have a friend who has the cardiac arrythmia where his heart beats super fast at times. He was unable to complete the Death Ride this year because he kept having to get off his bike and lie down to get his heart rate down. Scary stuff!!!

Uhhhhhhh - would that be one 5-shot latte? That's cheating! I believe you've earned it, though.
