Probably won't get to go again this summer. Work is getting busy for Thom and I've got a little thing called a double to get ready for. I'm thinking I may just go ride parts of the course during the week, so I can spend the weekends with my honey. I think pulling 55 - 70 pounds around for two and a half weeks has been good training though. I swear I got stronger as the trip went on.

Where are you going to be volunteering?

I will be a roving SAG - I am sure they will give me a specific part of the course to cover. But roving is going to be fun.

If you are riding in Marin during the week, let me know what days. I often work at home. It would be great to say hi - maybe grab lunch or a coffee or something.

If I were you, I'd do the first part of the course from Miller Creek and then cut back over Pt. Reyes-Petaluma Rd. If you want me to do you up a map, I'd be happy to.

Frankly, I feel better than I have in months, and can actually breathe normally during exercise, which I really was struggling with since April.

I see a pulmonologist Monday so that will be good. I want to see if I can be moved to the 3 months of anti-coagulants category from 6 months because that would allow me to start riding sooner. But I will do whatever these folks say. This is just a speed bump.

Lise - BUMMER on the root canal! I hate those! Maybe they will give you good drugs? Ask for the nitrous oxide anyway.

Ah, no! No root canal on the horizon! Just three in the past. I am diligent about the 6 month dentist visits now. Glad to hear the anti-coags are doing their job.

    Ah - I totally misunderstood.

I'm with you on that, though. I had 4 RCs - 3 of them within one year. That's enough to keep me VERY diligent about seeing the dentist.

    Crikey!!!

I'm working at home, at the dining room table. I started hearing a really creepy wheezy whistling noise and couldn't figure out WHAT it was. Scared the bejeezus out of me.

    It is my cat. Snoring.

I like tomato soup, but it's too hot here. I think my metabolism has increased since the start of the year. I eat, and I'm hungry an hour later. I'm holding out for a couple of chocolate chip cookies and a frappicino in an hour or so.

Are you still doing your spin class? How's the hiking?

He was named after the Chili Palmer character in "Get Shorty". Now he has all the obvious nick-names, along with Chili Bob, which came from an impromptu "Waltons... Goodnight John Boy" routine. He now responds to the name "Bob".

Kinda took a hiatus from spin this week, because I go to the early class and there was this matter of having to watch the live coverage of some very exciting stages of some bike race that took priority... I'll start up again next week and am also putting the rain bike on the trainer downstairs.

The hiking/running thing is good. I wish the Dipsea trail didn't have such a big wash out. Oh well. There are just so many great trails I can get to easily. And I think Stacy might join me in an actual trail running event sometime this fall. How's that for loyalty? I ditch her for the 508, but she'll come do some silly run with me. Nice!!

Yeah, the soup was a little hot for here, too, but it was filling!! Chasing it with a diet Barq's, which is very cold!!!
