no such luck. Just composing my usual wordy, self-centered post on TD!Originally Posted by maillotpois

winddance, yeah, welcome to TD! I went on a second date with a guy who LECTURED me about how America lost her bearings as a sovereign nation when we abandoned the gold standard for our currency. No irony. And he went on and on about it. He certainly is knowledgeable about the gold standard. There was no third date.
Sigh. I'm still sort of pining for photo guy.Haven't heard from Mr. P.

Winddance! You've been holding out on the dating stories on our rides! Tsk tsk!
Lise - how cool to get a note from Rosann Cash - that's great!
I bought a bunch of great new CDs the other day (first new music since my 14-year relationship went belly-up - isn't it strange how music and exes become so intertwined?) and I really like these new CDs - especially Norah Jones, the new Emmylou Harris/Mark Knopfler duet CD, some new Beth Orton, and Van Morrison - Magic Time (Van the Man!).
After an exceedingly long and irritating day at work, I'm enjoying listening to music, eating some leftovers, and drifting along!

Bah! I just started this up again. So far, I still like my bike better.Originally Posted by bikerz
I also like Beth Orton. I think I'm going to go download me some.
Lise, your poot foot! Bunions are painful. So are bad dates. I think I'm going to have a new "drinks only" policy so I don't have to suffer through dinners. You are a far better person than I for giving Gold Standard Man even a second date!
Do you think it's possible that we dismiss people to early? Maybe work-guy and Gold Standard Man just needed time to lose the nerves. Or no?

You want to hear a horror story? Our 22 year "adopted son" for the month hasn't seen "Zorro, the Gay Blade." What is wrong with his real parents?
We spent the evening coming up with more quotes for my silly games for next week's biz mtgs and he had never heard of Bunny Wigglesworth. I mean, really!![]()

Gold Standard Guy did not mention anything remotely political on the first date. The first date was pretty fun. We even looked at used bikes. Date #2 I could feel my eyes glazing over. Odd. I couldn't even tell if he was "left" or "right" wing, or just...peculiar!
