I'm in the do-housework-only-when-it-rains-or-company-is-coming support group! Kids, birthdays, spouses, those may be more important than biking, but not housework. What's a little dust compared to the peace of mind you get from riding? It takes time, but it's possible to lower your housecleaning standards bit by bit. I did it and will never go back. Besides, those kids and spouse (or SO) can help out, can't they? I would bet they are the ones that make most of the mess. Why SHOULDN'T they take some of the responsibility for cleaning? And if they don't care enough to do so, why should you? We're not cleaning slaves if we choose not to be. Sorry, don't mean to sound militant. I know my house is far from perfect so I'm probably defending my reason for having it so.
