Nanci, glad to hear the shorts seem to make the grade! I know how you've suffered. And if you like 'em, I may give 'em a try.
The clinic admin who broke the new of ex's marriage to foreign bride told me, "she seemed really dependent on him". I remembered how he loved it when I needed something, like when I was crying over a car accident and he could comfort me...not that he enjoyed my suffering, but he really loves saving people. He's a cop, fer cryin' out loud. He likes to be the hero. Except that I don't need a hero. I need a partner. Who can occasionally be my hero. Deeper insight.
I went for a little spin after work, felt like a speed demon riding north, I mean 20 mph was no problem! I couldn't really tell which way the wind was blowing, since the leaves on the trees seemed to be going every which way. Then...I turned around. Ah, that's the direction of the wind! IN MY FACE! Had to work hard for 14 mph.![]()
Last night when I rode to volleyball, I saw this guy at an intersection. He had great yellow panniers, and seemed really strong. He took off at one angle, and I at the other. A few blocks from vb we met up again! I said, "Well that answers that question." He replied, "Darn! I always thought my route was faster!" We laughed, and I said, "yeah, well you're stronger and faster than me." "Nah", he said, "I'm sort of a weenie." Good looking guy, but wearing a bandana instead of a helmet. I figured he was gay (because of the weenie comment, not because of the no helmet). Today, riding home from work, he passes me and yells out, "I'm going to try harder today!" I catch him at another intersection, and say, "Love your panniers!" He replies, "Oh, yeah, all the chicks say that". So now I'm confused. Gay? Not gay? Doesn't matter, cuz he's not bright enough to wear a helmet? We flirt for a bit, and he takes off. No names exchanged. Whatever, it'll be fun to run into him around town!
