Dear XH's attorney,

You turned out to be more reasonable than I expected, given that the original waiver of service you sent me (with a 7 day deadline to be signed, notarized and returned to your office) had me waiving my right to enter testimony . (And that whited-out part at the top of the suit that read "And Original Petition for Fraud." What was that all about?) You seem quite aware of the extraordinary nature of MIL's involvement in her 46 year old son's life. I can only assume you talked some sense into him. Or you were at least were able to overcome the false assumptions of the Texas Family Code he had been fed by *someone* .

Thanks to the efforts of you and my attorney, we were able to avoid having an actual hearing. We reached compromise, which is probably one of the first times for X, not having had a family model of same. Of course, this was only a Temporary Orders hearing, and we have a long way to go yet, but I am grateful that getting to this point was not as contentious as it could have been. I am looking forward to the peace of living without him breathing down my neck, trying to dictate how I parent my child. He has sought help. I only hope he will do the work it takes to make the help actually work.

Yours Until Final Orders Time,
