For regular road rides and training I generally wear whatever merino socks I find a good deal on.

For cyclocross racing it's all about the craziest knee-highs I can find! I have quite a collection going, now, and try not to wear the same socks more than once in a season.

Between Cyclocross, Crossfit, and Roller Derby, my knee-high sock collections is now... impressive.

Certainly not performance socks, but I spend way too much here:

I still keep meaning to pick up a pair of these spiffy compression socks:

I still have a few pairs of pink Terry ride like a girl's. I think I bought ten pairs or so when I first saw them and still have a few black Sweetpea's which I don't think are available anymore.

Another DeFeet fan here. The Aireators and Wooleators fit me best and are most comfortable of the various brands that I've tried.

One of the first pairs I ever bought have big yellow rubber duckies on them. I noticed a small hole in them yesterday. This makes me sad.

P.S. I like to color-coordinate my socks to my jersey. This does not necessarily mean they have to be the same color, just that they have to work well together.

    Gone but not forgotten:

    - Two awesome worn out Juliana saddles

After discovering wool socks a couple of years back, my cool chilli pepper and Rolling Stones socks are sitting unloved in my sock drawer. Wool just seems to work better for me, both in winter and in summer.

The only advantage is that wool socks do wear out more quickly than synthetic ones, so I can justify buying replacements more often. I have a couple of pairs of Pearl Izumi wool socks that have almost no fabric left on the heel, so need to be retired.
