My concerns are that if the bike frame was not designed for disc brakes, these could put an awful lot of stress on the seat stay at a point that it might not be able to handle it. I would talk seriously with an experienced bike mechanic that has had a chance to look at your frame before going that way. The Therapy and Woodman adapters get around that concern, but at such a cost that unless you can't find a frame to fit you that has disc brakes, it would be cheaper to buy a new frame rather than build new wheel and buy those adapters.
