Just picked this up tonight for $1000.



It's a Calfee Tetra Pro with Dura Ace 9 speed, LOOK fork (painted to match)Deda stem, FSA carbon seat post, Easton carbon handlebars, Bontrager X Light wheels, and Hutchinson tires. Although you can't really tell from the pics, it's a gorgeous emerald green, which I can't wait to see in the sunlight. It's a 2001, but I couldn't find even a hint of a scratch or blemish anywhere on the bike or components. I ran into my fitter at a burger joint after getting it, and after looking it over, he said it couldn't have been on the road for more than 500 miles if even that. I'm pretty stoked. The hard part is my ankle is in a cast and I don't know when I'll be able to take it out for a ride. I guess I'll just have to admire my new bike from my sofa for awhile.

All we get on Craigslist around here is used Walmart mountain bikes and the occasional ridiculously huge road bike. I clearly live in the wrong place. Heal up quick so you can take your new baby out for a spin!

It's the exact same around here for the most part, but if anything of quality shows up, it's either a tri-bike, which doesn't interest me, or it's way too big. Until I actually saw the bike, I wouldn't let myself believe that it wasn't a scam of some sort or at least a misrepresentation in the ad. I also couldn't believe that someone else hadn't grabbed it before me. It had been posted three times over the last month. I guess others had inquired, but were too far away or low balled the price.

And, the green is VERY apparent in the picture!

It's a 52, stock frame, 52ST/53TT. Since I just got it, plans to sell aren't around the corner, but the truth is that it is slightly too big for me, about 1 cm all around. I took enough measurements to know that I can make it work without too much compromise, but my only real concern is that I may have to lower the seat about 2-2.5 cm (I have short legs, long torso, long arms), which would put the saddle near level with the bars, not what I would want for this bike. I'm not really going to know until I get some pedals on the bike and shoes back on my feet. If it ends up not working, I'll let you know

Why can't I be so lucky. When something is that good of a deal out here, it is so hot it melts the pavement. Why on earth would anyone sell anything like that for that little...
