Measurements

Whenever someone posts their measurement for a body part I have to go measure mine.

My left pinky is 2 and 7/8 of an inch.

The circumference of my kneecap is 15 inches.

The distance from the crook of my thumb (where the thumb joins the hand) to my middle finger is 13 cm. If a woman's pelvis is smaller than 12 cm from the symphysis pubis to the sacral promentory, she may have trouble getting the baby out. We actually measure our hands in midwifery school. So, as long I can't touch somebody's sacral promentory, she's good to go!

You people are just WEIRD!!

I have huge hands. My left hand, from the closest wrinkle to my hand on my wrist to the top of my middle finger is 7 1/2 inches. They match my size 11 feet.

And on feet - I have just spent 40 minutes trying to find SOMEONE who makes women's cycling shoes in a size 11. All women's cycling shoes seem to stop at 10 1/2 at the max (size 42 - 43). The men's equivalents are loose in the heel. AARRGH. My 4 year old Northwaves are about to give up on me. (I am going to try Sidi narrow mens to see.)

My nose from the bridge to the tip is 1 3/4"

It's cool that you have big hands and feet Sarah, because you're tall. You'd look funny with itty bitty hands and probably fall over if you had tiny feet. Or we'd have to cut off some inches to make it work. And I think that would hurt.

The base of my nose is an an inch and 3/4.

My hand stretched out tip of the little finger to the tip of the thumb = 8". Comes in very useful when furniture shopping.

"They" always say that proportionally your wingspan (tip of the left fingers to tip of the right fingers) is the same as your height. Ht = 63.5". Wingspan = 66. Does that prove I'm descended from monkeys?

I go off and watch Gilmore Girls and come back to all these measurements (earring to nose??) that I am even having trouble visualizing!!

I hope we gave SK and her yardstick some fun activity to keep her off the ice cream...
