Well, to be fair, I think *most* vehicles have some usefulness. If I had a family with 4,5,6 kids and I wanted to go camping, an SUV (or even better, a good old fashioned station wagon) might be appropriate. My problem is when SUVs are used as single occupancy vehicles to ferry people the mile down the road to work, or take junior to school when he could be riding his bike. They're just overkill for most of the things people use them for.

    Yeah, I guess I don't like 'em.

well... you're not alone.. i know there a LOT Of people that don't like them! (and i'm sure glad i didn't buy a hummer! *ducking*)

i don't have kids.... but we do have two expensive bikes that needed protection from THIEVES! so we did trade in my car for an SUV.. err... bike hauler.. since we like to travel to organized rides (meaning 2-3 hour drive to get there then do the century/double metric/etc) so maybe you won't egg me or my vehicle! giggle!

Niteline did a little blurb on this. Chevy is *saying* that gosh, this is all just wonderful attention and the don't mind the negative ones at all. We'll just see whether anybody runs something like this again. Of course, they're probably calculating just exactly how much "bad traffic" vs. "blindly lapping up marketing traffic" there is... so it would be a good idea to play these a *lot* lest they decide we're insignificant.
There were some pretty powerful ones with an environmental twist... that desert dune scene with "global warming" themes sends a powerful message. One of 'em was reminiscent of "whose garden was this" - "Daddy, show me the pictures again, when there used to be nature..."

I completely agree. My parents loaded me and my four siblings around in a Dodge Coronet (4 door sedan, no A/C, etc.), so I don't understand why people with one or two kids need a huge SUV. No offense to anyone who owns an SUV, please, but in my opinion, the cars should have to subject to a premium tax and owners should have to get special drivers licenses to drive them.
