I'm still trying to figure out what the different color envelopes mean. I could probably read up on it and find out but I will figure it out soon.

There is a key to the meaning of the envelopes ("Icon Legend") at the bottom of each thread-listing (forum) page, for example:

If you only look at "new posts" the legend isn't there, you have to go to one of the forums. Just to let you know, the orange ones are hot topics. Blue ones I guess are cold topics.
