    Nuun Tablets

Either I did it wrong or this stuff hates me. I put two tablets in thinking one tablet was for 8 oz. But as I looked closer on the label after I came home each tab has two servings? Stupid print on the label is too small. LOL.

One tablet for 16 oz bottle then? Not two?? If so, no wonder I wanted to barf the entire ride.

Even with two tabs, it does nothing for salt. I went to the store and picked up a bag of Combos (I know..it's bad) and had some. Salt desire went away so thanks for the idea of pretzels. I was hoping to find a bag of pretzel rods but my stores don't carry them. I figured the rods would be easier to use. When I get up to Wally World I'll get a package.

Nuun has sodium in it, so I'm not sure what you mean when you say that it "does nothing for salt." Which formulation where you using?

Use more than one. 360 mg sodium is enough for 20-30 minutes exertion, depending on your individual sweat and sodium retention rate. You don't say how long you rode, but in high summer you can pretty much guarantee it's more than one tablet's worth!

I've definitely used two Zenergize tablets in a bottle before (remember that a typical water bottle is 22-24 oz, not 16).

I use one per 12 ounces.
I wouldn't put two into 8 ounces! BARF! is right.

I use one Nuun tablet for 21 or 24 oz (depending on the bottle). While better than Gatorade, taste-wise, I still like Skratch Labs better. From your previous report, it sounded like Skratch worked better for you?

Skratch felt like it worked better however it was 77 degrees, raining and windy instead of 85, humid and windy like it was today. I came home dripping with sweat like I usually do. I only went 11 miles.

I have a 16 ounce bottle that I dumped two tablets in. Looks like one tablet is for 16 ounces instead of two. Still feeling really sick..LOL.

Yeah, the print on the tube is kind of small. A whole tab in 8oz... EW.

I find it works pretty well for salt, but I haven't done HOT rides with it. Weirdly, my stomach is okay with it on the bike, but not off the bike (though that was a different flavor....).
At least I don't leave slime trails.

I like this product but I only use one tablet, regardless of the bottle size. Some of my water bottles are smaller than others, 16 - 22 oz. I don't have anything smaller than 16.9. I can imagine it did not taste very yummy.

My water bottles are 21 oz and I use one tablet. But... I have put a second tablet in when the bottle is only halfway gone, especially when there's ice in the bottle.
I don't get sick from any of it and it feels much lighter than anything else I've used, like Accelerade or Gatorade. I haven't used anything but Nuun this season, even on 50 mile rides. I just use Shot Blocks and real food.
I want to try the Skratch Lab stuff, but I have a lot of Nuun to use up.

I've posted about this before, but if you're feeling sick, it might not be the salt. Nuun causes some intestinal distress for me and a lot of other people. Just something to consider.

ETA: Here is the thread where TE folks gave me some interesting and very helpful info.

I live in Florida- so I definitely deal with heat and humidity. Nuun has all the electrolytes you need- no reason to add in processed food of combos after. If you need food, do a protein drink and keep hydrating with fluids.

I put in 1-2 in bottle. If it is bad out I will put 2 in a big camelback bottle if my rides are going to be shorter(under 2 hours) I will put 1 in a small bottle and then the other bottle I use Heed or Skratch.

You may need to try different flavors, my fiance loves the cola flavor and the tea- I can't stand either. I like the orange a lot.

You may just need to learn that when you are pushing your body hard with physical activity you will feel different then when you are just walking around or sitting inside.
