Dear People who Repaired my Birks:

Thank you! I'm so glad to be able to continue using my shoes, and the new foot beds are awesome (they could even go up a size to accommodate my expanded feet). Thanks for providing good customer service.

That makes me happy about your Birks.

I hope repair does not become a lost art. There's a place in town that repairs glasses. I had one pair that was hopelessly bent with broken nose pieces from being in a pocket and another that was in pieces from being stepped on and the guy fixed them both up in one day for under $40 bucks.

I love cobblers. We have a an older Italian man and his son who have a shop in town. It's just like the one my mom went to when I was a kid.

I once saw a remarkable documentary film about Italian cobblers who make ballet pointe shoes. (I learned some amazing things during my insomnia phase, but really, I don't miss it!)

I would love to see that. My old ballet teacher was a dance shoe maker, and I asked if he would teach me the trade, but he strongly discouraged me. I think it's hard to make a living cobbling.

Had a girls day out with my honey and my mom yesterday! We took mom for a spa pedicure, then we "did" lunch at a nice restaurant, then went shopping. This was moms first time out in her new wheelchair so we wanted to make it fun, she had a great time. I love my mom.

That's so nice, Pax. Glad you had a good day!
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

That's terrific Pax. I wish I could get my mom out of the house for something other than doctor appointments.
