I've never admitted this to anyone... I have worn extra large arm warmers as leg warmers before. They don't have zippers at the ankles (wrists), so you can't take them off easily during a ride. But they're about the right length for me.

    Red face

You want a faux pas? Take a look at this one, I was hiking in Canada, we were heading back to the lodge and decided to stop at a falls.

Here is snap, ever the fashionplate in long sleeved baselayer, tshirt, tights under the hiking shorts, hiking sox, and Ryder's sandals. With a very smart baseball cap to top it all off.

Well, if you just would have left off the shorts.... I wear socks with sandals every day!

Armwarmers for leg warmers, that would work if I could find a pair that fit a, say, 24" biceps!

Wear than over shorts just once... and you learned they have to go under shorts. Basically they will just slide down to your ankles otherwise!!!!! I bought a pair too big, I just bunched the extra fabric at my knees, figured they could handle the extra warmth!!!

Honey, you do whatever you want. Veronica wears socks for arm warmers, some with penguin motifs.

I have a pair of one-size-fits-all wool knee warmers that just about make leg warmers for me, and I'm 5'6" with a 32" inseam. That's an idea for some of you shorter people.

I finally got a pair of leg warmers that fit a short person (sort of ) but I find that when i wear them, it causes my ah, thighs to bulge out in a very peculiar way at the place where the warmers meet the top of my shorts, when they are tucked under. I am a pretty light weight person, but I don't have rock solid thighs. It looks like I have a bubble on the inside of my legs! I don't have this problem in shorts or tights, so I end up wearing tights most of the time and having to take them off if it gets warm. No one probably cares, but I feel weird. Maybe it is just that they just are too big (doubt that).
I guess I better ride even more....

Happens to everyone. That's the beauty of legwarmers. I'm more likely to wear tights if I want my entire leg covered, but wear knee warmers a lot. They're just so practical and easy to tuck in a pocket.

I'm with you, Robyn. Yeah, yeah, I know everyone gets THE BULGE but we don't have to like it! Actually, THE BULGE is just one reason I hate knee and leg warmers. I just don't like constriction in general. It took me a couple of years to figure out that I really did need to buy the smaller bike shorts because they work better...I have historically always purchased things a tad too big.

I'm a huge fan of knickers. No bulge and contrary to shorts, I think they are actually flattering, no matter your size or shape. I never get overheated in them.

I have a friend that is the queen of cycling fashion faux pas: knickers with long soccer socks. That way she can push the socks down if she gets too hot.

Deb, do you have Salsa, Spot or Swobo kneewarmers? Any advice on size? I've been eyeing them for some time but the web sites aren't terribly helpful in determining size. I have some Blackbottom knee warmers, medium, mens sizing I suspect; that fit fairly well. I would like some wool because I suspect they would be warmer under my winter tights. Since I'm short I have plenty of excess material at my knees to let me double up and it really seems to help my achy knees in cold weather.
