I don't know what it is about CX bikes, but mine is my favorite...and it's a HUGE step-down in fanciness from my road bike. But it fits me better and I love that I can go anywhere with it, even if it's heavier and the knobby, squishy tires don't go nearly as fast. I never really have bad rides on that bike. And I usually get muddy, which is fun!

I'll echo what others have said about the fitting. Do it!
