I heard Converse was back 'in'. I think I still have my pair from when I was in high school.

Chuck Taylors are very popular here at the U, but I've never seen boot height Converse before. They look very hot.

Supposedly, I live in the hippest hipster community in the country (Twin Cities), and chucks are definitely the way to go. I picked up an awesome bright purple pair of high tops at a thrift store for $6 (in Las Vegas... around here, no one would give them to a thrift store...).

When I wear them, I sometimes feel like a dorky mom trying to look like a college kid again. But I still love 'em, especially the color!

Last time I was ever carded to buy alcohol (I was 44 at the time) was when I was wearing fuchsia chucks... the clerk leaned over the counter, looked at my feet, looked at me, and said "I'm really going to need to see some ID".

there is also a crime scene lab tech in the tv series NCIS who sports those and similar bizarre footwear and clothing. Just sayin, they cover the body, you won't fall off of them, they are a solid color with no obscene prints or logos. They could do worse and they probably offer good ankle support.

Oh, they come in colors. One of my girls has them in hot pink. Again, I don't find them offensive. I just want to know why they have become popular. Ten year olds are not exactly fashion innovators and to have 4 of them start wearing them pretty much at the same time, made me wonder if I was missing something in pop culture.

I know a girl with those. She mentioned that they take a looonnnnng time to lace up. I only saw her wear them once.

I am missing everything in pop culture!

My guess is that they saw them in a:
    Music video
    TV show
    Mall display
    Magazine ad
Each day is a gift, that's why it is called the present.
