I thought being a mom of little kids was a challenge, until they grew up. Son had a 2nd bike stolen yesterday, 3 months to the day of the 1st bike being stolen. Is hard to be supportive while wanting to scream. My telling him he is an idiot probably isn't a good idea.

I don't know how you moms do it. The young man I share an office with is always losing his cell phone, getting his bike stolen, breaking his glasses, forgetting appointments, etc. As a coworker I can watch in mild amusement, if I were his mother, I'd kill him.

    Dear friend,

I'm sorry I failed to wish you a happy birthday until most of the day was gone. It wasn't because I forgot about your birthday, it was because I had one of those days that included running around, talking, and putting out fires from the minute my feet hit the floor this morning (and I stupidly checked email before even managing to brush my teeth). Today's date didn't even fully register in my brain until about 30 seconds before I sent you that birthday message a few minutes ago.

I'll make it up to you this weekend when you're finally back in town from your own crazy work adventures. Promise.

    Love,
    me

Tell your friend she cancelebrate her birthday for at least a week. Maybe a month. Maybe all the time or any time.

Dear Good Friday holiday, thank you for turning up. Also, thank you for coinciding with the LAST DAY OF THE GEN PSYCH CLASS! OMG! PSYCH!!! I apologize for sounding like an overexcited teenage girl but the rest has been much looked forward to. Now for an awesome weekend with a chilled out canine pal with loads of long walks and coffees at dog friendly cafes...

Indeed - a birthday jubilee! I like to extend my celebration as long as possible, and if someone is later with a wish, it makes it even more special later
