Dear G-ds of medications,
I got my second Prolia shot today. Please don't let there be any of those horrible and weird side effects that I had to sign a waiver for.
This is a new medication for osteoporosis. It's used as some kind of oncology drug and they discovered in the course of this, that it helps grow bone. I had the first treatment in June, with no issues. Now I have to wait until next June to have my bone density scan, to see if it's worked.
Funny, my mind is very strange. When I took Reclast (infusion), I felt mildly nauseous as soon as the IV was inserted. I could only take about 2/3 of the dose, as they thought it was an allergic reaction. So my doctor didn't want me to try it again, even though the 2/3 dose worked. When I had the first Prolia shot in June, I rode my bike there, so as to keep my mind off of it. I don't think the Reclast thing was a reaction, I just get unbelievably nervous and can almost make myself feel weird when I take a new medication. As soon as she took the needle out of my arm today, I felt weird. There's no preservatives in the injection (I made them check) and this was a mild version of what happened in 2010. I didn't tell the nurse, sat there for 15 minutes and did paperwork and went to buy some gifts in town. I am fine now.
I'd like to strangle my brain.
