IV sedation is like you might get for a major dental procedure. No memory of the procedure or a couple of hours afterward. The person who's supposed to be with you may have all kinds of amusing stories.
If you're sent home with pain meds (? I have no idea), they should make sure you take them, because you will neither remember to take them, nor remember having taken them.
Oral sedation is often Halcion or a similar tranquilizer. I don't know anything about that.
