FWIW, you don't necessarily need to go to a dealer to get a check engine light checked. Most repair shops should have the diagnostic tools needed, especially for domestic cars.

    Dear Ford Dealer,

Thank you for putting in a new battery. It's nice to know you had one for my Santa Fe. You didn't charge me a fortune and didn't take forever to do it.

this is one of the reasons that I appreciate my premium AAA membership. They have come promptly,(to the driveway) checked out my battery/ignition, towed or fixed the problems, both times at no additional charge to me beyond materials. It has paid for itself.

And the AAA car insurance rates were/are over 50% less than Gieco's for me. I'm very pleased with that.

Dear drunk guy at the concert who was yelling so loud and at such inappropriate times that you actually distracted the singer and made him start a verse over again, then chatted through all the songs so that everyone else was distracted too,

I hope you woke up this morning with a screaming headache, remembering everything, and were mortified at your behavior.

Dear driving instructor who buzzed me on Saturday,

I hope you heard and understood what I said when I caught up with you at a stoplight and hollered, "Teach them about safe passing distance, okay, thanks." I just wish I'd paid closer attention to what school you work for so I could have reported you, but I was really trying hard to be polite and educate you.

That is one of my biggest pet peeves. It's hard to buy a concert ticket anymore for less than $50, so why do people go and then talk and drink all the way through it? It seems like it would be a lot cheaper to just hang out with your friends at a bar.

Dear People who had the project before I did,
Thank you ever so much for NOT coordinating with the state regulatory agency. I really enjoyed today's meeting where I found out just how broken things are.

Instead of shepherding through the final regulatory stages, I get to fix the mess. I would have been much happier knowing there were design issues - to the point it's been questioned certain components will even function. OOOOh I can't wait to have the contractor who did Phase I to help me out of this Phase II hole.

    Dear Highly Esteemed Wonderful Physicians
thank you for the good news (that the cancer is receding due to radiation and chemotherapy) I am glad that each of you thinks that just your medicine (or your surgical procedure) is all he needs but we really need to do the best thing for DH. Can't you guys arm wrestle or something and figure it out?

Mimi - that is AWESOME news! Hopefully the medical staff can figure out what needs to happen to keep things going in this direction.

Hang tough! And best wishes to you and RaleighDon.

Yea Mimi! Doctors are so hard to deal with - you need a psychology degree sometimes!
