Now, mind you, there was absolutely nothing on the website that said anything about a no photo policy. People on the various email lists (iBob, Rivendell, Framemakers, to name a few) were calling this BS and announced their intentions to bring their cameras on Saturday & Sunday. ( Just my 2 cents, it's one thing if the "no photo" policy was spelled out on the website and on other promotional materials, but it wasn't - people found out about it after they paid their admission and entered the exhibit space. Pretty slimey, IMO).
I brought my little digital camera fully expecting not to be able to use it, but it weighs very little so it would have been no big deal either way for me - except for the principle, of course.
Either there were some confrontations at the show on Saturday, or the organizer wisely backed down, because by mid-morning on Saturday there were cameras a-plenty.
It's too bad that Thom didn't bring his camera, he would have taken some great photos. But since as of Friday evening it seemed like he wouldn't have been able to take photos at all, it's understandable that he didn't bring his gear along.
