    Smile “YouTube”

I rarely watch anything on YouTube but recently my young Grandson had his first try at a jamming session in a local pub. Fantastic experience for the little lad, mixing with musicians of all ages and abilities.

Generally the monthly sessions are put on YouTube, when I explored the clip, it appeared a website (USA based) had suddenly shown up. Clicked on the site and it was just fascinating to realise that the YouTube clip my Grandson was in was appearing the other side of the pond!

Some of the comments are quite funny, just thought I would share.

You could say I am a teeny weeny bit proud.

Also he got his Street Buskers Licence a week before his 9th birthday and he averages about £60 per hour ($98)!!!

The little guy seems to have so much confidence when he plays all on his own in our nearby shopping centre.

Even his taste of music is beyond his years, loves classic Rock and the Blues, his knowledge puts me to shame.

    Proud of my nephew!

For several years in Norway the cell phone company One Call runs a contest. Grand prize is an extreme active vacation. This year my nephew is one of the winners.

They assemble a group, 30-40 people who go to a "camp". The first one was in far north Norway. Getting to camp they cross country ski with all their gear, then there's challenges like a swim in the arctic, building snow cave, ski jumping. At the end of the camp judges and crew pick the winners for the next camp.

That was on an island. Here's the video of the 2nd camp.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-am6g...eature=related

The beginning of this clip shows members shopping. They are given a budget and told to come up with a menu for a meal or more for the group. They have to come in at or under budget and create a great meal as well as get it to the island safe and dry ;-)

How to get to the island.

Groups are told whether they will kayak, swim, catamaran, wind surf ... with all their food and gear. One of the contestants in this clip had been chosen for the group who swam to the island.

He did not know how to swim! Staff and also his team (including nephew) "pep talked him". They act as a raft in the ocean so he could not sink and he made it.

Anyways so more challenges, more contestants eliminated, another camp was held and finally down to the 4 winners.

My nephew is one of them. He's going to Antarctica!

Wow Clockwork, he's a talented young man, and so composed too. Just a teeny bit proud eh? Totally justified.

Congratulations to your nephew on his achievement Trek. That's a nice story about supporting his team mate too.

Clockwork, your grandson's amazing. 9 years old and playing the blues! Keep it up, he's good. Sadly I'm sure there are 9 year olds who could really sing the blues. Hope all he has to sing about now are "I've Got The 9 Year Old Blues"
