I know everyone's busy, I'm busy too. But when you're talking to me on the phone I don't need to hear you flush. OTOH if I'm in the bathroom and the person in the next stall is talking, eww.

Make time to have a conversation in person, on the phone but out of the bathroom and out of the car too.

When I drive behind someone who, for no apparent reason, is going way slower than the posted speed limit. OR people who have stopped for the red light, are going to turn right, but don't do it on a red light. They wait for the light to turn green! Like...it's alright to turn right on a red light as long as there are no cars coming, no pedestrians in the crosswalk, etc.

Ha, that's what people here do at 4 way stop signs. I guess this is a *real* pet peeve. This is what happens. Car #1 arrives at stop. Maybe #2 does, too. They are both sitting there, looking like dumb azzes, when I pull up. No one moves. I wave them on, and they still don't move. So, I go. Seriously, this worked like clockwork in AZ. The first one there goes. End of story. Last week I approached the 4 way stop in my neighborhood. There was a car sitting there, for awhile. He waited until I stopped and then, he waved me through.. It's like they wait to see what you are going to do, instead of following the rules.
It's even worse when you are on a bike. Drivers wave you through when it's not your turn, confusing everyone.

LOL...how about when it's the person you're with who won't stop talking? Ugh...

But we could start a whole thread just on movie misbehavior!

actually, this is getting to be a pet peeve in that drivers are always in SO MUCH hurry that they don't look for pedestrians and almost mow them down. I'd rather that they make it so you CAN'T turn right on a red, because it's quite dangerous, especially in cities where there are usually pedestrians. Do a couple of seconds out of their lives really mean that much?

It's also illegal in a lot of places, so it could be those drivers are from places where turning right on a red isn't allowed.

    Angry It's my sidewalk too!

I make the exception for very young or elderly and/or disabled cyclists but for most cyclists when you're on the sidewalk you are to me like a car is to you.

Get your @zz on the road!

I admit to jousting with them downtown. I'll slow down a bit but "take the lane" walking straight down the middle of the sidewalk. This is especially fun when as a rider I know "hmm, hole in the sidewalk to my right, glass debris to my left ... what're you gonna go, bubbah? "

Drivers who have a stop sign but don't stop if they don't see cars. Did ya check the bike path before you tried to run me over?? And the turn signal thing. I'm pretty sure drivers in Colorado must be trained to slam on the brakes, and then signal as they're turning, rather than signaling before braking. I mean, if they bother signaling at all.

People on cell phones at the checkout counter anywhere. At least tell them to hold on and put the phone down and deal with the cashier as if they're a person!

    misplaced apostrophe's

And whoa, whoa, whoa...I don't know a thing about Bachmann's husband. She's a nutbar. Didn't know a thing about him. Where's this video?

When people borrow things and then have the nerve to return them when they look like they've been dragged through a hedge backwards

I lent a co-worker a book once and I was appalled at the state that it was returned, all dog-eared and battered

Oh G-d, the apostrophe thing .
Somewhere, somehow, people have it in their mind that you use an apostrophe whenever there is an "s" at the end of a word. Noooooo! Plain old plural words don't use an apostrophe.
People, an apostrophe is used to show possession! That means when something belongs to something or someone else.
The only other time is when you have a contraction.
I admit, I get roiled when I see this misuse here on TE.

Marcus Bachmann. He's an "ex"-gay, and like so many closet-cases, he is deeply involved in anti-gay politics and spends his time wallowing in gay culture while counseling young gay men to become straight. (much like George Rekers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Rekers and many others: Ted Haggard, Eddie Long, Larry Craig, etc. )

He doesn't have a license to practice, but he found a loophole because the state doesn't require it for what he does. He owns and runs a religious-based psychotherapy clinic that counsels young gay men to pray to become straight and to act more masculine using examples from the Bible. (Hmmm, Jonathan and David come to mind as strong manly examples... oh, wait, they were gay... http://wouldjesusdiscriminate.org/bi..._jonathan.html )

Bachmann has taken hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to fund his pray-away-the-gay clinic. He and his wife spew horrible cr@p about gays. One of the milder things he's said is that gays are "barbarians" bent on the destruction of all of Western society. (And here I thought that 10% of the population just wanted their Constitutional right to equal protection under the law so they could raise their kids and take care of their families... )

Anyway, a group dressed as "barbarians" tossed glitter around his clinic in protest.
The best coverage is -of course- from European media: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...nn-clinic.html

I have no problem with this...... You don't *have* to make a right on red. Maybe they see something you don't. Maybe they cannot accelerate quickly. You aren't up there you have no idea, so just be patient and wait...

My biggest cycling pet peeve is when a driver passes you, then stops to let a car approaching from the opposite direction turn left in front of them, and you by default. It's like an invitation to a left hook party.

    Non cycling, noisy neighbors.
