Monday I jogged easy for 2 miles and then did diagonals at the football field.

Yesterday my friend dragged me out for an 8x800's workout. Ugh! I have never felt so ill. We managed to do all 8 reps on pace. But the last 4 I could feel my head floating away like a balloon and my guts starting to burn. Too much humidity!

I think I'm ready to start running 3x a week again

I ran/hiked the 8 mile trail loop with my dog this weekend - she is so pooped even today that if I stop for a minute to talk to someone she lies down for a nap. I was getting my laptop out of the car and turned around to find her on the ground half asleep already. Needless to say, she wasn't excited about running the second half, so it was not as fast as I'd hoped, but I/we'll get faster as we go.

The trail is about 2 miles of flat to uphill, 3 miles of fairly steep climbing-scrambling where I'd run until my heart rate was too high and sometimes even hiking my heart rate would stay the same, and then 3 miles of gradual downhill (parts a little less than gradual). It was in the 90s, which is usually too warm for running. Stubbed my right pinky/second toe on a big rock, pinky toe is still a little sore (needs some ice). Same toes I stubbed before, need to work on picking my feet up on the trail.

As I posted on facebook, we also saw a bald bearded man in a wedding dress getting his picture taken. This is a dirt trail, he was about 3 miles in. I hope he carried the wedding dress.

I am doing the P90X strength training with my Ironman endurance training at this point. P90X forces me to focus on specific areas better than I do with just a regular strength training plan. I will cut it back after I am building more. It basically means I'm skipping the plyo/cardio days ATM, though I miss the plyo from when I was doing it a few weeks ago, and I think my running would benefit, so I'm kind of trying to find a place for it, but it might be too late.

    Anyway... happy running

Missed a lot of runs this week for various reasons, but I got out for ten yesterday. I've been having a bit of trouble with my SI joint on longer runs and MC rides, so made an appointment with a PT.

    Hot buttered runs indeed!!!!

I went for my first trail run in a long time. It was very steamy. I had to walk most of the hills. There was a fire in my gut. Ugh. It's supposed to be a recovery week for me so I had no problem laying off and taking it easy
