    edited: I tried the second suggestion, but this is a "smart" blender. If there is something wrong with how it is set up, it won't allow you to turn it on. *$&# blender is smarter than me at this point.

    Is there anything you can grab onto either below the blade or near the edge with a pair of pliers, maybe?

    Use a small piece of wood as a cushion/driver to tap the housing for the blade shaft with a soft hammer?

    Presumably after some eed-jit stuck their fingers in it and the company got sued for $zillions
