So I did my 12 miles on Saturday. First half wasn't too bad then the heat really kicked my butt. Then I did 5 minutes of step ups on a weight bench...ouch! But the end the PPA is like steps so I need to be ready!

Today was 6 miles of "hill" (bridge) repeats. Near the end I though I would burst into flames...no from my speed but the heat! Once the sun comes up it is brutal. I know everyone right now is experiencing this heat. Whew!

Not sure how the heat and humidity will translate into making me "tough" and "fit" for the ascent on Pikes Peak...I am sure the incline and lack of O2 will make me suffer even more! I think it is 38 days to go. So a couple more weeks of pushing myself in my training (although I think it is getting to be too late for that!) and then a nice taper. OMG
